Lecce vs AC Milan Prediction: Rossoneri ready to land win over luckless Lecce

AC Milan arrive in Lecce following an excellent midweek victory over French champions PSG in the Champions League and look set to add to the struggles of their hosts, who are on a lengthy winless run.

The Rossoneri, who are third in Serie A, will be confident of getting a result against their 13th-placed opponents.

Lecce vs AC Milan Prediction

  • Milan to win to nil @ 6/4
  • Olivier Giroud to score anytime @ 13/8

Team news

Lecce will be without winger Pontus Almqvist, who scored last weekend, for the visit of Milan but will be boosted by the return of defender Kastriot Dermarku, who should make the bench.

Milan arrive without the services of Christian Pulisic, who was forced off late on against PSG in the week, with Samu Chukwueze likely to replace the American.

Injuries to defenders Simon Kjaer, Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino alongside backup goalkeeper Marco Sportiello are not significant enough to stop Milan, whose squad is strong enough to mitigate those absences, from dominating this fixture.

Match Odds

Milan are 4/6 to take the points in Lecce, with the draw priced at 13/5 and an unlikely win for the hosts available at a price of 9/2.

It is EVS for both sides to score and 8/11 for one of the teams to fail in finding the net.

Lecce are unlikely to find the net so those odds seem fair, as does the price of 11/10 for over 2.5 goals, with the hosts unlikely to contribute to the scoreline.

Milan to win to nil @ 6/4

Hosts Lecce are winless in their last seven matches, losing five of that sequence, and could be in for more misery when title-chasing Milan arrive on Saturday.

The visitors will be on a high after an impressive 2-1 win over French champions PSG in the Champions League in midweek and, facing a side who has beaten them once in their last 23 attempts, should build on that victory at Stadio Via del mare.

Milan have won four of their six Serie A away games this season, with their only dropped points coming in a loss to their rivals and league leaders Inter and a draw at reigning champions Napoli.

This is a far easier assignment for the Rossoneri and although Lecce have picked up their act in terms of goalscoring recently, netting three times in their last two matches, they may struggle to break down Milan.

The hosts failed to find the net against Napoli and Juventus, suggesting they do not possess the firepower to trouble the top sides in Italy, so take a victory and a clean sheet for the away side with 2-0 appealing as a correct score bet at a price of 6/1.

Olivier Giroud to score anytime @ 13/8

France’s all-time record goalscorer has been in fantastic form for Milan this season, netting six times in ten Serie A games and notching his first Champions League goal of the campaign in the win over PSG this week.

The Rossoneri should dominate proceedings at Stadio Via del mare and Giroud, alongside tricky wingers Rafael Leao and Samu Chukweueze, should get plenty of opportunities to hurt a leaky Lecce defence.

The hosts have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven matches, conceding 14 times in that run, and the French star should have a notable impact against a weak backline.

Lecce have conceded to the likes of Victor Osimhen, Romelu Lukaku and Arkadiusz Milik in that run of games, suggesting they struggle with tall, physical strikers, which is a mould of forward that Giroud definitely fits.
