There’s a big game from the top of League 2 coming our way on Thursday night as promotion-chasing Salford host already-promoted Bromley at the Peninsula Stadium (20:00 BST, Sky Sports Main Event).

Karl Robinson’s side sit just one point behind third-placed Cambridge United, and they will be desperate to finish in those automatic promotion places. Below you can find my Salford vs Bromley predictions featuring team news and match odds.

Salford vs Bromley Betting Tips

  • Salford to win @ 8/11
  • Over 2.5 goals @ 1/1

Team News

After an impressive 2-1 win away at Oldham, Robinson could name an unchanged XI for this home tie. Ryan Graydon and goalscorer Daniel Udoh have struck up a good partnership up top in this 5-3-2, while right wing-back Rosaire Longelo was taken off with 10 minutes to go but should be fit to go again in this one.

Bromley may look to make some changes having failed to win their last two, with William Hondermarck and Corey Whiteley pushing for starts in the attacking third. Marcus Ifill and Mitchell Pinnock should continue at wing-back after strong recent displays.

Salford vs Bromley Odds

Salford are priced at 8/11 to win this game, Bromley are 10/3 and a draw is 5/2. That gives the hosts an implied win probability of 58%, while over 2.5 goals is 1/1 and BTTS is 10/11.

In terms of goalscorers, Cole Stockton is the 4/1 favourite to score first.

 Salford vs Bromley Stats

  • Bromley's last three League Two away games have all produced three or more goals
  • Salford have won five of their last six home games

Salford to win @ 8/11

Backing against the team sat top of the league may seem counter-intuative, but there’s good reasoning behind this selection. Salford have won five of their last six home games, and have the third-best home record in the league.

Bromley’s promotion has been built on the back of an unbeaten home record and although their away form has been strong (ranked fourth), they are weaker on the road. Added to that, they have failed to win their last two games and with promotion secured, only have the title to play for.

Meanwhile, Salford know that they need to realistically win both of their remaining matches to overhaul Cambridge and get into League 1. I think they will get the job done here.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1/1

I also think there is a good chance to back goals in this League 2 clash, given the amount of attacking quality on show. Bromley's last three League 2 away games have all produced three or more goals while seven of Salford's 22 home games this season have produced four or more goals.

Those stats make for good reading if you fancy goals, and I think the price of EVENS is extremely generous especially considering that the home side have to go for it - a draw isn’t much use to Robinson’s men.
