For most teams, the League Two season is now 12 matches old and the fourth tier is starting to take shape.

As the international break begins, here’s a look at the promotion markets and two value selections.

Notts County to win League Two @ 11/4

The race to go up from League Two looks set to be ultra-competitive this season with just four points separating the first eight teams after 12 games.

Wrexham began the season as favourites to win the title but are out to 7/2 after struggling defensively on their return to the EFL, only three teams have conceded more than their 23 goals.

Nevertheless the Red Dragons sit seventh after taking 20 points from 12 games and can be backed at 8/11 to be promoted.

The new favourites in both the title winner and promoted market is Stockport, who are a point behind the league leaders Notts County after winning six games on the spin.

However, table toppers County make plenty of appeal at 11/4 to win the title, thanks to their impressive attacking talents.

David McGoldrick has shone on the drop down to this level while Macaulay Langstaff has picked up where he left off last season by netting eight times.

The Magpies have scored 27 times in 12 matches and while their record of 21 goals conceded does not look great, the fact that ten of those goals were conceded in heavy defeats makes it read better.

If Luke Williams’ men can eliminate those freak results, they should go close at winning the title in a competitive division.

Swindon to be promoted @ 2/1

Back-to-back defeats have somewhat taken the shine off Swindon’s start to the season but they have only played 11 games and are still just five points off top spot.

Only Crewe have netted more than the Robins’ 27 goals, despite the fact that they have played a game less, and key to that has been the pair of Jake Young and Daniel Kemp.

Between them the pair have netted 16 times and have propelled their team up the table.

Michael Flynn is an experienced manager at this level and has managed to get the best out of his young squad.

The 2/1 about the Robins being promoted looks tempting given the talent at their disposal.

Outsiders

In such a competitive division as League Two, it would be foolish to write off any side and there have been a few surprise packages, including Gillingham, who sit third after taking 22 points from their first 12 games.

That is despite netting just 11 times in that run, the Gills are 18/1 to take home the fourth tier title.  

Wimbledon are the only team in the division to lose just one game and they are 20/1 shots to take the crown this season.
