Lazio vs bodo-glimt predictions betting tips europa league thursday april 17 2025

After losing the first leg of their Uefa Europa League quarter-final tie 2-0 in Norway last week, Lazio have a lot of work to do in Thursday's return fixture at the Stadio Olimpico (20:00, TNT Sports 5) if they wish to reach the final four of the competition. Their visitors to Rome, Bodo/Glimt, impressed in their first-ever appearance at this stage and head to the Italian capital safe in the knowledge that even a one-goal defeat would be enough to send them through to the semi-finals.

Below are my Lazio vs Bodo/Glimt predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Defenders Patric (ankle) and Nuno Tavares (muscle), as well as on-loan Bayern Munich attacker Arijon Ibrahimovic (thigh), all missed Sunday's Derby della Capitale due to injury, and the trio remain sidelined for the visit of Glimt.

Left-back Luca Pellegrini and midfielder Reda Belahyne, alongside fellow January arrivals Ibrahimovic and Oliver Provstgaard, were left out Lazio's Uefa squad, so none of the quartet are available for Thursday's match.

Football Odds

Nicolo Rovella was banned for the first leg in Norway but returned to action on Sunday and has served his suspension in Europe.

Lazio vs Bodo/Glimt Stats

  • Lazio have conceded in all three EL home wins this season
  • Glimt have lost half of their EL away games in 24/25 (W1, D2, L3)
  • Mattia Zaccagni (LAZ) has scored both of his EL goals this season at home

Gaute Vetti (ankle), Sondre Auklend (leg), Syver Skeide (knee), Daniel Bassi (knock) and Jeppe Kjaer (thigh) are expected to miss out again for Glimt, who weren't in league action on the weekend, so they should be well rested ahead of their trip to Rome.

Ulrik Saltnes was the star of the show in Bodo as he bagged a first-leg brace, and he heads into Thursday looking for a third successive double, having also scored twice in a 3-0 Eliteserien victory over HamKam on April 5.

Lazio vs Bodo/Glimt Odds

Lazio's draw with Roma on Sunday was their fifth successive stalemate at the Stadio Olimpico, and a sixth, which would suit Glimt just fine on Thursday, can be backed at 4/1. The visitors are 6/1, or a 14.3% chance, to do the double over the Italians, who are 2/5, implying a 71.4% probability, to claim victory on home soil.

I Biancocelesti are 11/8 to win the tie, while Glimt are 8/15 to progress to the semi-finals by any means.

Lazio striker Taty Castellanos (21/20) heads the anytime goalscorer market, followed by teammates Boulaye Dia (7/5), Pedro (8/5) and Mattia Zaccagni (13/8). Saltnes is 11/2 to grab a goal in Rome and 50/1 to repeat his feat of scoring twice.

Match Result & Both Teams to Score - Lazio & Yes @ 2/1

A one-goal defeat on Thursday would be enough for Glimt to win the tie, so given the game state, I won't be backing the Norwegians to do the double, despite their impressive victory in Bodo.

Things are likely to be very different for them in Rome, where Lazio have lost just one of their last 10 games and beaten some of the Europa League's big hitters this season. Baroni's side thrashed OGC Nice 4-1 at the Stadio Olimpico in October, edged past Porto 2-1 there the following month, and overcame Real Sociedad 3-1 in January.

Glimt, meanwhile, have only won one of their six Europa League away games (W1, D2, L3) in 2024/25 and none of their last four, three of which they have lost.

Another defeat on their travels looks likely for Kjetil Knudsen's side, although he will be confident of his team scoring, given they have blanked just once away from home in this competition - and have struck in their last five.

Lazio have conceded in four of their five European home matches this season, including in all three of their three wins at the Stadio Olimpico, and could end up leaving space at the back on Thursday as they hunt the minimum two goals required to take the tie to extra time.

Anytime Goalscorer - Mattia Zaccagni (LAZ) @ 13/8

Lazio captain Zaccagni has scored 10 goals this season for I Biancocelesti, including two in the Europa League, but hasn't found the net in his last seven eight appearances for club and country, most recently striking in a 2-1 win at AC Milan on March 2.

Still, he looks decent value to get on the scoresheet on Thursday, especially compared to Dia (7/5) and Pedro (8/5), who are on 13 and seven-game barren runs, respectively, and aren't guaranteed to start the second leg against Glimt.

Zaccagni has shown he can pop up in important moments before, famously scoring a stoppage-time wondergoal for Italy against Croatia last year to send Gli Azzurri into the knockout stages at Euro 2024.
