Las Palmas vs Getafe Prediction: Honours even in Gran Canaria

Las Palmas welcome an in-form Getafe in La Liga on Friday night (20:00), with the visitors on a nine-game unbeaten run, but the hosts are not short of form themselves.

Los Amarillos have lost just three of their last 10 matches and beat giants Atletico Madrid in their last home game.

With Getafe in eighth and Las Palmas only one point worse off in 11th, the Gran Canaria Stadium looks set to stage an extremely tight affair on Friday.

Las Palmas vs Getafe Betting Tips

  • Draw @ 2/1
  • #PickYourPunt - Both teams to score and Borja Mayoral anytime scorer @ 10/3

Team news

Las Palmas will be without injured trio Eric Curbelo, Alvaro Lemos and Fabio Gonzalez but, with no fresh fitness concerns, Garcia Pimienta could name an unchanged side from the 1-0 defeat at Real Betis.

Jose Angel Carmona went off against Almeria and is a doubt for this match, with Carles Alena the most likely candidate to replace the midfielder, meaning he could miss out alongside long-term absentees Mauro Arambarri and Enes Unal.

Match Odds

With these sides so closely matched, it is unsurprising to see little between the full-time result prices. Las Palmas are 13/10 to take the points, Getafe 12/5 and the draw chalked up at 2/1.

Both teams to score is a likely outcome and is available at 11/10, with the reverse surprisingly shorter at 4/6. It is unlikely to be a goalfest though, as shown by the under 2.5 goals price of 4/9.

Mayoral is the shortest priced in the first goalscorer market at 5/1, with 7/1 Sory Kaba the likeliest to strike first for the home side.

Draw @ 2/1

Both of these sides arrive in solid form and there may be little to split the pair on Friday night.

Getafe may be unbeaten in nine matches, but they have drawn six of the games in that run and could struggle to land all three points against an equally in-form Las Palmas.

The hosts beat third-placed Atletico Madrid in their last home matches and the only losses they have suffered in their previous 10 matches have come against strong sides, going down to league leaders Real Madrid, resolute Rayo Vallecano and high-flying Real Betis respectively.

Las Palmas have suffered only one loss in their six home matches this season and can stand strong against their eighth-placed visitors.

Getafe’s wins in their unbeaten run have come against two of La Liga’s bottom-five sides, Almeria and Cadiz, and minnows Tardienta in the Copa Del Rey, suggesting they may struggle to take the points in Gran Canaria.

The draw appeals at 2/1, with 1-1 a likely scoreline and that outcome chalked up at 5/1.

#PickYourPunt - Both teams to score and Borja Mayoral anytime scorer @ 10/3

With a close encounter expected, both sides should be backed to find the net to kick off your #PickYourPunt selection.

Both teams have scored in five of Las Palmas’ last eight games while the same is true for eight of Getafe’s last 11 in La Liga.

If any player on either team is likely to have a say on proceedings, it has to be Borja Mayoral.

The former Real Madrid striker has scored five goals in his last four appearances, netting in each of those games, and could get on the scoresheet once again for Getafe.
