Juventus vs Cagliari Prediction: The Old Lady to get the job done

Coppa Italia action comes our way on Tuesday (20:00, Premier Sports 1) as Juventus welcome Cagliari to the Allianz Stadium in the round of 16. The Old Lady head into this game having experienced another 2-2 draw at home in Serie A against Venezia at the weekend.
Cagliari are currently a point off safety in the top flight and have suffered defeat in their last two league outings. Gli Isolani defeated Carrarese in the first round of this competition before knocking out Cremonese in the second. Read on for my Juventus vs Cagliari prediction, including the latest match odds and team news.
Juventus vs Cagliari Betting Tips
Juventus are 2/5 to win this tie in 90 minutes, which gives them an implied probability of 71.4%. Cagliari are 6/1 (14.3%) to become the first team to win at the Allianz this season in a domestic match. The draw is available at 3/1 (25%), which has been a winning selection in five of Juve's eight home league games this term.
Over 3.5 goals has landed in the Old Lady's last two Serie A encounters at the Allianz and is 2/1 to strike on Tuesday night. Both teams to score has been a winning selection in four of Cagliari's seven away matches in the league this season, while striking in one of their two cup appearances to date. It is on offer at 1/1 for this contest.
Team News
Juventus have welcomed back Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez from injury, with both making the squad at the weekend. The duo were introduced in the second half and boss Thiago Motta could be tempted to give them some more minutes on Tuesday to aid them in their return to full fitness.
The likes of Francisco Conceicao, Manuel Locatelli and Mattia Perin will also be hoping to be promoted from the bench in the hopes of impressing the boss against Gli Isolani.
Juve's top scorer Dusan Vlahovic is expected to be given a rest here but may still make the bench just in case his services are required. It doesn't help that the Old Lady do not have many recognised centre-forwards in the squad, but we could see Timothy Weah deployed down the middle for this one.
The only other striker in the squad is Arkadiusz Milik but the 30-year-old is sidelined with a knee injury. The other members in the infirmary right now are Juan Cabal and Bremer, who are both out with ACL issues.
Full-backs Jonas Rouhi and Andrea Cambiaso will need to be assessed ahead of the game after both missed the last game to muscle fatigue and an ankle problem respectively.
Cagliari's main concern heading into this clash is wide man Zito Luvumbo, who went over his ankle at the weekend against Atalanta, and so he is presumed as a doubt for Tuesday.
Boss Davide Nicola may be tempted to rest some of his key stars in Turin as they have a huge clash with relegation rivals Venezia coming up next in the league. Veteran forward Gianluca Lapadula, who was the match-winner in the previous round, could be given the nod to start up top against Juve after being left on the bench against Atalanta.
Juventus to win to nil @ 6/5
Juventus have been strong at home this season, losing just once at the Allianz. This came against VfB Stuttgart in the Champions League, and that was a narrow 1-0 scoreline.
The one thing that the Old Lady will be disappointed with in the league is that they have drawn more than they have won. Five of their home games have been stalemates, while there have been just three victories so far.
Juve will have a great opportunity to secure a home win here against a side who have struggled in Serie A this campaign. Cagliari have won just once away from home in the top flight and have lost four of their seven clashes on the road.
The hosts have shown that they can be a stubborn team to face and they boast an excellent defensive record. Juventus have shipped just 12 goals in the first 16 matches of the season in Serie A, while they have recorded 10 shutouts along the way.
I think we could see them mark their first Coppa Italia appearance of the campaign with a clean sheet, as I can't see the struggling visitors posing too much of a threat at the Allianz. That's why I think backing Juve to win to nil could be a sensible selection for this game.
The Old Lady have won to nil in all six of their victories in Serie A this season, while one of their home games in Europe, which came last time out against Manchester City, was also a win to nil.
It's a frequent trend for Motta's men, and I think 6/5 offers decent value for it to continue on Tuesday.

Nico Gonzalez anytime goalscorer @ 13/8
Having this man back from injury will help Juventus pose a much greater attacking threat moving forward, and the Argentina winger is no stranger to getting on the scoresheet.
Gonzalez was frequently scoring goals at his previous club Fiorentina before his summer switch to Juve in the summer. His injury has impacted his start to life in Turin but he has still managed to grab his first goal for the club, which came in the Champions League opener against PSV Eindhoven.
The Argentine will be hoping that he can build some momentum now in the next few weeks as he looks to cement himself as a starter in Motta's side. I think we could see him start on the left flank here to help him improve his fitness levels, and I believe he can cause Cagliari some problems.
He will be relishing the chance to face a side that has conceded 26 goals in the league and who have kept just three clean sheets across all competitions this term. I'm backing him to give himself a boost on Tuesday by getting on the scoresheet.
