Brentford are in fine form in the Premier League right now, having won three games on the spin. They travel to Portman Road on Saturday (15:00) to face already-relegated Ipswich Town, who have lost their previous seven home matches in the top flight.

It looks likely that eighth place this season will secure Uefa Conference League football for next season and the visitors are firmly in that race, sitting one point behind AFC Bournemouth who currently occupy that spot. Read on for my Ipswich vs Brentford predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Leif Davis is suspended for Ipswich due to the red card he picked up at home to Arsenal on April 20, but this is the final game of his ban. Fellow left-back Conor Townsend is out injured, so Jacob Greaves has been filling in on the left side of the defence in recent weeks.

Ben Johnson will be back in contention after serving a one-game suspension of his own.

Boss Kieran McKenna is still having to cope without Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles), who is out for a lengthy period of time.

Wes Burns (knee), Sammie Szmodics (ankle), Arijanet Muric (shoulder), Nathan Broadhead (thigh) are also unavailable for the Tractor Boys.

Ipswich vs Brentford Stats

  • Ipswich have lost seven home games on the bounce in the PL
  • Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have scored 36 PL goals between them this term

Brentford have been boosted recently as Aaron Hickey and Igor Thiago have returned to full training following spells on the sidelines. However, Vitaly Janelt has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a heel issue.

The same goes for Fabio Carvalho, with the attacker suffering with a shoulder problem. So the Bees are expected to continue with the same attacking quartet of Bryan Mbeumo, Mikkel Damsgaard, Kevin Schade and Yoane Wissa.

Ipswich vs Brentford Odds

Ipswich are winless in their last five matches in the league but they are 4/1 to claim a rare victory on Saturday.

Two of their past four outings have been draws and the stalemate is on offer at 16/5.

Brentford have won three games in a row in the Premier League for the first time this season and they are 4/7 (which has an implied probability of 63.6%) to collect the three points.

Over 3.5 goals has struck in two of the Bees' previous three fixtures in the top flight, while this has also been a successful bet in three of Ipswich's last four. This market is available at 6/5 for Saturday - and it also landed when the two teams met in London back in October, with Brentford winning 4-3.

Brentford and over 2.5 goals @ 11/10

Ipswich have struggled greatly in the Premier League and there is nothing worse than having relegation confirmed with games to spare. The Tractor Boys are likely desperate for this campaign to end so they can start planning for life back in the Championship.

Brentford's winning run has put them in a strong position to push for Europe in the final weeks of the season and momentum is certainly with them. The players are playing with a great deal of confidence and they boast arguably the best attacking duo in the division in Mbeumo and Wissa, who have both bagged 18 goals apiece in the top flight.

Ipswich should be a free hit for the Bees as the hosts have nothing to play for, but they cannot afford to be complacent, as they only narrowly defeated the Tractor Boys when they met at the Gtech Community Stadium.

As I say, momentum is with the visitors so I have no doubt that they will come out on top here, and I've added over 2.5 goals because there were at least three goals in the reverse fixture, as well as in two of Brentford's past three outings, as well as each of Ipswich's previous seven.

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa to score anytime (via Bet Builder) @ 7/2

Brentford's attacking stars have been remarkable this season and they are both well on their way to ending the campaign with 20 goals apiece in the league. Mbeumo and Wissa have continued to deliver for the Bees across multiple years and their form is not going unnoticed.

Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Mbeumo ahead of the summer, while Nottingham Forest were chasing Wissa last summer. Brentford look like they may face a tough fight to keep hold of them both in the summer but there is a chance that European football could entice them to stay a bit longer.

They come into Saturday's contest in decent form, Wissa especially. The DR Congo forward has scored in four consecutive matches heading to East Anglia, while Mbeumo has two in his last three appearances.

I think backing them both to score against an Ipswich side that has leaked goals (76) all season is a smart selection for the weekend.
