Inter Milan vs Torino Prediction: Bet on Martinez to be among the goals

We have already seen one of the San Siro giants beaten on home soil this weekend in Serie A, and Torino will be looking to repeat Cremonese’s shock victory when they face Inter Milan on Monday (20:45 local, 19:45 BST, live on DAZN).
That 2-1 AC Milan defeat to Davide Nicola’s side will have reminded Inter not to take things lightly as Cristian Chivu gets set to coach the Nerazzurri for the first time at domestic level. My Inter Milan vs Torino predictions, full team news and Betfred’s match odds are all below.

Team News
It has felt like the longest of summers for Inter following their three-fold collapse at the end of last season.
That 5-0 Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain perfectly summed up the way their campaign had fallen apart in the latter stages, and by the time they took part in the Club World Cup it was clear they were running on fumes.
Chivu got his first experiences as Inter’s new head coach in the new format out in the USA, but it is here in Serie A that his real impact will be felt.
They have added Marseille’s Luiz Henrique to their squad over the close season, while Ange-Yoan Bonny is a new addition from Parma having played under Chivu for the Crociati.
Petar Sucic and Andy Diouf also arrive at Appiano Gentile to give a new dynamic to their midfield.
Torino boss Marco Baroni will choose between Duvan Zapata and Che Adams for a spot up front on matchday one.
Zapata missed much of last season due to injury, and Adams bagged 10 goals in 38 appearances in his absence as Toro finished 11th in Serie A.
Franco Israel will start in goal, with fellow new signings Tino Anjorin, Cyril Ngonge and Zakaria Abdoukhlal also likely to get the nod.

Inter are short odds for the victory, with great expectations surrounding them having led the way deep into the 2024/25 campaign.
They’re 2/5 to get off to a winning start on Monday, with Torino out at 7/1 and the draw available at 18/5.
Lautaro Martinez is the first choice to open the scoring at 7/2, with Bonny at 4/1 and Mehdi Taremi and Marcus Thuram both 9/2.
Bet Builder - Inter to win, Over 2.5 Total Goals & Lautaro Martinez to score anytime @ 19/10
On the hunt to stretch a bit of value out, I’ve compiled this three-legged bet builder which presumes it will be Inter’s night.
While Milan were downed by Cremonese in what was the visitors’ first ever opening-day victory in Serie A, the Nerazzurri come into the season looking a far better outfit than their city rivals.
They should have too much for a Torino side who scored only 25 goals in their final 30 games of 2024/25.
The big hope for Toro is that they can regain some of the form they showed in the opening eight rounds of last season, when they scored 14 goals and were at one point involved in four straight 3-2 scorelines, including a defeat in this very fixture.
That makes the over 2.5 total goals a real shout even if the Granata can’t stick with their hosts, and particularly when you consider the goal threat of the likes of Zapata and Adams.
As for Inter, they have Martinez. With 153 goals in 335 appearances for the Biscione, he has to be backed to make the scoresheet in game one as Chivu and his side look to set out their stall straight away.
This bet builder at 19/10 has an implied probability of 34.5%.

It’s not just that 3-2 at San Siro back in October 2024 that is stuck in my head.
Opening days are notoriously a little awkward for the bigger clubs, with new-look squads trying to find their feet and opponents carefully carrying out training drills they have been practising for weeks on end on the practice fields.
Class should still tell in this one, and I expect an Inter win. But Toro will likely give them a few scares and a big part of me thinks this one will be in the balance still late on.
La Granata have dangers in the final third, and if Inter give them an inch there could be goals at both ends.
Given how nip and tuck this could get, I like the look of this 12/5 for Torino to be beaten only by the odd goal.
