Two sides with differing fortunes go head-to-head at the MKM Stadium as promotion-dreamers Hull City take on a QPR side just four points above the relegation zone.

The Tigers cannot afford to drop any more points from now until the end of the season if they are to have any chance of claiming the final play-off spot, but they could be able to claim revenge with home advantage after losing the reverse fixture in London 2-0.

Hull vs QPR Betting tips

  • Hull to win to nil @ 23/10
  • Fabio Carvalho to score anytime @ 5/2

Team news

Liam Rosenior has no new injury concerns affecting his Hull squad, with Manchester City loanee Rory Delap expected to remain on the sidelines with a knee injury that has kept him out of action since New Year’s Day.

After being held to a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough last time out, the Tigers’ boss could make changes to his starting line-up, with the likes of Ryan Giles and Aaron Connolly vying to be involved from the off after making substitute appearances in midweek.

The likes of Jack Colback, Rayan Kolli and Taylor Richards could all be set to miss out for QPR through injury, while R’s boss Marti Cifuentes could decide to stick with the squad that was held to a 1-1 draw at Plymouth.

A lack of fit holding midfield options means that Isaac Hayden and Sam Field are likely to keep their places in front of the defence, while Scottish striker Lyndon Dykes should be trusted to lead the line once more.

Match odds

The hosts are favourites to take all three points in this Championship encounter at 11/10, whereas the R’s are 13/5 to claim a valuable victory as they look to avoid the drop.

The draw can be backed at 23/10, while Hull’s veteran striker Billy Sharp is the likeliest opening goalscorer with odds of 6/1.

Hull to win to nil @ 23/10

The Tigers are on a six-game winless run at the MKM Stadium, but should be able to return to winning ways against a side who they comfortably beat 3-0 in this fixture last season.

Hull’s current two game unbeaten streak leaves them six points behind sixth-placed Norwich with five games left to play, so Rosenior will know that a draw would realistically end their play-off ambitions for the season.

QPR have failed to win any of their last two in the Championship and both of those results came against fellow strugglers Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday - scoring just once - so a meeting with top-half opposition who have conceded just 24 goals at home this season could see the R’s struggle to find the back of the net.

Fabio Carvalho to score anytime @ 5/2

Liverpool loanee Fabio Carvalho has scored three goals across his last three appearances for the Tigers and he could find himself on the scoresheet again this weekend.

Carvalho is likely to start up front as a false nine and, with seven goals in the league since joining in January, he will be one of the main focal points in attach for the must-win hosts.
