Huddersfield vs Blackpool Prediction: Terriers need to respond

Huddersfield Town entertain Blackpool at the John Smith's Stadium in League 1 on Tuesday (19:45, Sky Sports+), looking to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at home to Northampton Town at the weekend. The Terriers had a poor afternoon summed up by the own goal scored by defender Michal Helik.
Blackpool head to West Yorkshire with their tails up after winning their first two league matches under Steve Bruce, including a big three points at Charlton Athletic at the weekend. Below you will find my Huddersfield vs Blackpool prediction, featuring match odds and team news.
Huddersfield vs Blackpool Betting Tips
Huddersfield vs Blackpool Odds
Huddersfield are 9/10 to get back to winning ways here, giving them an implied probability of 52.6%. Blackpool are valued at 3/1, which gives them a theoretical chance of 25%. The draw can be backed at 13/5 (27.8%).
Both teams to score is available at 8/13 and over 2.5 goals is marketed at 8/11. Huddersfield attacker Josh Koroma has four goals in League 1 so far and only one player in the division has more goals than him (Lee Gregory with five). He is 13/8 to score anytime on Tuesday, or 5/1 to open proceedings.
Team News
Terriers defender Helik should manage to keep his place in the back line despite a horror show of a performance against the Cobblers. The back three is likely to stay the same and the Polish centre-back should be joined by Nigel Lonwijk and Tom Lees.
Boss Michael Duff could opt to make changes in forward areas, however, after the weekend's loss and the likes of Freddie Ladapo, Joe Hodge and Bojan Radulovic will be hoping for promotions to the starting lineup.
Blackpool could also make some alterations to keep the team fresh after a quick turnaround, with the likes of Jordan Rhodes and Jake Beesley potentially coming in after being reduced to cameo appearances in south-east London on Saturday.
Experienced Matthew Pennington replaced Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel at right-back for the second 45 at The Valley, and he could be thrown in from the off against the Terriers to add some more height at the back.
Huddersfield or draw and both teams to score @ 21/20
As one of the sides tipped for promotion at the start of the season, many will have been surprised to see the Terriers beaten in the manner that they were against Northampton, especially after they thumped promotion rivals Bolton Wanderers 4-0 in their own backyard a week prior.
With four wins from their first two six outings in the third tier, things have mostly been going well for the Terriers, but they cannot afford to drop more points at home if they are to have a successful campaign and return to the Championship at the first attempt.
Duff will have been brutally honest to his players after the weekend and you imagine that he will have them fired up to deliver an instant response against the Tangerines.
Bruce will be gunning for a third-straight win here but I am under the impression that Saturday will go down as an anomaly in the grand scheme of Huddersfield's season, and I think this will be a tough away game for Blackpool.
However, with the confidence they have gained of late, they can certainly look to profit from Huddersfield's latest defeat and make it a very difficult match. For that reason I have decided to go for Huddersfield or draw for my first selection, boosted by both teams to score because both teams have quality in attacking areas that can make a difference.

Josh Koroma anytime goalscorer @ 13/8
Koroma has been the Terriers' main man so far this campaign and he did score against the Cobblers, but of course it was only a consolation goal. The forward will be hoping he can get on the scoresheet to better effect in this clash, and I believe he is worth backing.
He will be full of confidence having found the back of the net four times already and he is coming up against a Tangerines side that despite having won their last two matches, have conceded a total of 13 goals in their six league outings - the joint-highest in the division.
This will be Bruce's toughest test to date in charge of the Tangerines and he will be coming up against one of the favourites for promotion on their turf. Yes, he tactically bested Charlton's Nathan Jones at the weekend but I am unsure that lightning will strike twice for the former West Bromwich Albion boss.
Koroma will be determined to add to his tally and help his team get back to winning ways at home and I think he will succeed in scoring against statistically one of the worst defences in the league.
