Huddersfield Town vs Charlton Athletic Prediction: Town to get back to winning ways

A full League 1 schedule is back after a long international break and there's a interesting-looking match taking place at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday (15:00), as eighth-placed Huddersfield Town take on Charlton Athletic.
Our own Terrier Adam Roberts is on hand to preview this one and he's given us his Huddersfield vs Charlton Prediction, as well as all the latest odds, stats and team news.
Huddersfield vs Charlton Betting Tips
Two of the bigger sides at this level face off on Saturday, as both Huddersfield and Charlton look to move back into the second tier of English football. But just exactly which Terriers side will turn up at the John Smiths, as they have been anything but consistent in their first season back in League One since 2012.
New manager Michael Duff has spoken openly about changing the mindset around the club from one of survival to one of positivity and taking games by the scruff of the neck. That has certainly been the case more often at home, with Town picking up five wins from their opening seven games in West Yorkshire.
After a dismal run of four straight losses, Duff has toughened up the side and barring a terrible FA Cup loss to part-time Tamworth, have answered back solidly on the back of a five-game unbeaten league run.
As for the visitors, the Addicks started the season on fire but have since slumped badly, with just one victory in their last eight games and are winless in their last four. Nathan Jones took charge of the London club back in February but has struggled to implement the same winning mentality that saw him have so much success with Luton Town.
With two sides unsure of their best 11s, struggling with injuries and consistency, anything could happen at the weekend but I have an inkling the hosts may just have the egde.
Team news
Duff continues to suffer from injury issues to key players but had some positive news in midweek, revealing that Lasse Sorensen, Joe Hodge, Radinio Balker and Lee Nicholls have all returned to training, however, are not in full contact just yet.
Michal Helik, Rhys Healey and club captain Jonathan Hogg are all in full training and are available for selection.
Jones is still without Will Mannion, Kayne Ramsay, Tennai Watson, Lloyd Jones, Dan Potts, Tyreece Campbell, Chuks Aneke and Daniel Kanu who remain sidelined with injury this weekend. However, all four players who went away on international duty are available for selection.

Hudderfield are unsurprisingly odds-on at 4/5 to pick up three points, giving them an implied win probability of almost 56%, while Charlton are the 18/5 outsiders, or a 21.7% chance.
The draw is available at a price of 13/5, with both teams to score at 5/6 and over 2.5 goals at 10/11.
Huddersfield to win @ 4/5
As mentioned above, barring the Tamworth debacle, Town have been a lot more solid recently and have avoided defeat in their last five straight League One games. They are a different proposition in front of their home fans and the slightly warmer weather tomorrow in Kirklees might result in a more responsive Terriers fan base.
Duff has had the best part of two weeks to work on patterns of play with his side and will have really tried to drill into his team about a quick start and putting away sides when on top.
Jones is struggling to get his Charlton side going at the moment and I think he may come up empty handed again here on Saturday afternoon.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Huddersfield to win, BTTS and Town over 6.5 corners (Bet Builder market) @ 5/1
As well as the home win I'm also taking both teams to score. The Addicks have scored in five of their last six and Town have scored in all but one home game this season.
I'm also heading back to an old favourite for this column and lumping onto Town over 6.5 corners. I tipped it up against Exeter and it landed...just.
Town lead the league for home corners, where they average 7.64 a game (8, 5, 7, 10, 17, 9, 7). That was skewed by a massive 17 against Barnsley but they have only failed to pass this line on one occasion this season at the John Smith's.
The three selections pay out at 5/1 at the time of writing.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
