The final Bundesliga fixtures of the calendar year take place in midweek, and after disappointing runs of results for both Hoffenheim and Darmstadt recently, the sides will be hoping to end 2023 on a positive note when they meet at the PreZero Arena on Tuesday night (KO, 19:30).

Hoffenheim won their last game in Sinsheim but a defeat at RB Leipzig on Saturday was their fourth in the last seven games, and they've only won twice at home all season.

Their task should be made easier by the away record of Tuesday's visitors, who have picked up a paltry four points on their travels - only Union Berlin (three) and Werder Bremen (two) have won fewer.

Hoffenheim vs Darmstadt Betting Tips:

  • Hoffenheim to win and over 2.5 goals @ 19/20
  • Andrej Kramaric to score anytime @ 6/5

Team News

Former Manchester United loanee Wout Weghorst will miss out again for Hoffenheim with a groin injury, and he is joined on the sidelines by Mergim Berisha, Bambase Conte and Dennis Geiger, none of whom have been in action this month.

The likes of Florian Grillitsch, Kevin Akpoguma and Maximilian Beier will all be vying for starts after appearing off the bench against Leipzig.

Darmstadt have a lengthy injury list of their own to contend with. Christoph Zimmermann, Oscar Vilhelmsson and Fraser Hornby are just a few of the names that will be absent on Tuesday, while there are doubts over the availability of Fabian Holland, who missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Wolfsburg.

Match Odds

The hosts are favourites at 1/2 to win Tuesday's game, with the draw at 18/5 and a victory for the visitors priced at 5/1.

Both teams to score is 4/7 and it's 4/9 for over 2.5 goals.

Hoffenheim to win and over 2.5 goals @ 19/20

Darmstadt have lost their last three games and haven't tasted success since early October, so the onus is on the hosts to pick up all three points on Tuesday.

Only five clubs have scored more goals than Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this season and they should be buoyed by the defensive record of this week's visitors, who have shipped a league-high 38 goals this term, 22 of which have come away from home.

Five of Darmstadt's seven away games have seen the over 2.5 bet land, while there has been only one occasion this term where fewer than three goals have been struck at the PreZero Arena.

Andrej Kramaric to score anytime @ 6/5

It's been a mixed campaign so far for the Croatian forward, who started the season off so well with four goals in his first six club games. He's only scored once since September 29 for Hoffenheim, though he also missed four games through injury.

That goal did come in Hoffenheim's previous home match, a 3-1 win over Bochum which should have instilled some confidence into a side that has struggled at the PreZero Arena this season.

With Weghorst still out injured, the goalscoring burden is heavily on Kramaric's shoulders, and I think he will prove he's still fearsome in front of goal on Tuesday.
