Hibs vs Midtjylland Prediction: Sun to shine on Leith

Hibs got a creditable 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Europa League clash against Midtjylland, and now the pair head back to Easter Road to determine who makes it to the third qualifying round.
This one kicks off at 20:00, and below you can find my Hibs vs Midtjylland predictions.

Team News
Jamie McGrath scored on his full debut for Hibs in the first leg to earn the Edinburgh club a 1-1 draw, and he is expected to continue with Martin Boyle and Kieron Bowie in attack.
EFL stalwart Jordan Obita has found a home north of the border with Hibs and will play on the left, with Warren O’Hora likely to start on the other side of the defence. Dylan Levitt and Josh Mulligan will start in midfield, as David Gray is likely to name an unchanged team after a battling first-leg performance.
FC Midtjylland vs Hibs Stats
- Midtjylland created an xG of 1.66 in the first leg
- Hibs scored in the seventh minute and registered one shot on target after that
Midtjylland manager Thomas Thomasberg - what a name by the way - is likely to recall Kevin Mbabu at right-back, having made five changes for the league win over Sonderjyske at the weekend.
Choosing between Franculino and Edward Chilufya as to who partners Adam Buksa up front may well be his biggest decision however, as the Danes failed to make their dominance count in leg one. Having come off the bench at half-time in that draw, Friday Etim provides another attacking option and could be thrown in from the off.
Hibs are priced at 5/2 to win this game in 90 minutes, while Midtjylland are the clear favourites at 9/10 to get the job done in normal time. That gives the visitors an implied win probability of 53%, while a draw can be backed at 12/5.
BTTS is 8/13, over 2.5 goals is 8/11 and Hibs are 6/4 to qualify from this tie.
Hibs to win the tie @ 6/4
Right first of all, I would like to make it clear that Midtjylland are the stronger of the two teams here and are on paper, rightfully the favourites to get through. However, Easter Road is a magical place on a European night and I think the first-leg draw will give Hibs massive belief that they can cause a shock and make it through.
I don’t believe that they will get the job done in 90 minutes, so backing them to win the tie makes perfect sense in my eyes. With ‘Sunshine on Leith’ inspiring this group of players and Gray able to play on that atmosphere, I think Hibs could be the side to back. They scored early in leg one and that changed the dynamics of the game - as they then sat back to defend what they had - but I think they will be a far more dangerous outfit on home soil.
They are a big price to progress via any method, so that’s what I’ll choose as my first selection.

Under 2.5 goals @ 1/1
Now this price for a 90-minute match has caught my eye given the stage this tie is at. This came in during the first leg in that 1-1 draw and I’m not sure I see this game being an open encounter at all.
Hibs will want to keep things tight at the back and nick one on the break, while they proved they can cope with heavy bombardment from Midtjylland away from home. I can see this one being a draw after 90 minutes and heading to extra-time, in which case a 0-0 or 1-1 scoreline would land us a winner. I believe this is a great price given the current game state.
