Hibs vs Celtic Prediction: Back weary visitors at 7/1

Celtic travel to Easter Road to take on Hibs on Saturday afternoon (12:30), just four days after a devastating defeat at the Allianz Arena in the UEFA Champions League.
Our Scottish football expert Frank Monkhouse gives his Hibs vs Celtic predictions, complete with the latest odd and team news.
Saturday afternoon’s home match against Celtic is Hibs first outing since scrapping to a goalless draw with St Mirren in Paisley six days ago. The Hibees start fifth in the table with 34 points on the board thanks to eight wins, ten draws, and eight defeats. Interestingly, the locals have scored 37 and conceded 37 goals. Beat Celtic in Edinburgh live on Premier Sports 2, and Hibs will match Dundee United in fourth who have lost five of six recently.
Celtic came agonisingly close to winning in Munich and taking Bayern to extra time. Nicolas Kuhn rattled the Hoops into a shock 1-0 lead on 63 minutes, bringing the teams level at 2-2 on aggregate. On the brink of an incredible result, Celtic conceded in added-on time when Alphonso Davies bundled in to equalise and send FCB into the next round 3-2 on aggregate. The Bhoys return to the league, where they enjoy a 13-point cushion over nearest rivals, with the chance to extend that to 16 points.
Hibs may have the home advantage, but they’ll kick off Saturday afternoon’s fixture as the underdogs with Betfred traders. That’s despite David Gray’s rejuvenated team climbing into the top five following an extended unbeaten run. The team from the capital has won two and drawn four of their previous six, earning them 34 points.
A home win would shoot the locals into contention for a European finish, which is incredible when remembering they were rock bottom of the league earlier this winter. You can support the home win at the eye-catching 6/1 available on the Betfred website and app.
Celtic travel from Glasgow to Edinburgh, sitting proudly atop the Scottish Premiership. The Hoops’ form and dominance mean it has been a one-horse race for most of the season, with Rodgers’ team making light work of Philippe Clement’s challenge after brushing off Aberdeen in the early exchanges.
Celtic are now out of the Champions League, meaning they can focus on adding the Premiership and Scottish Cup to the League Cup won late last year. The visitors have won five and drawn one of their last six league games, bagging nine points in their previous three outings. An away win for Celtic is a 4/9 favourite at Betfred, with the draw worth considering at 7/2.
Team News
Hibs will be without Marvin Ekpieta, Thody Elie Youan and Joe Newell through injury, while Alasana Manneh misses out through suspension. Jack Iredale is a doubt.
Only Paulo Bernardo and James Forrest are definitely unavailable for Celtic, with Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn the questionable one.
Both teams to score - Yes @ 4/5
If Celtic are anywhere near their best, they will leave the nation’s capital with another important three points, moving a step closer to retaining the league title. But we shouldn’t overlook Tuesday’s energy-sapping defeat in Munich and exit from the Champions League. It was an excellent campaign for the Bhoys, and the squad may be a little flat following that monumental effort.
With that in mind, I’m advising a bet on both teams to score at 4/5. That price is good enough to back as a single, but will also do a great job in your Saturday multiples, including a both teams to score accumulator. Both to score was a winning bet in three of the previous five meetings of these teams.

Correct Score - 1-2 @ 7/1
With both teams to score added to our bet slip, we now set our sights on a bet at more attractive odds. The correct score market has given us some memorable wins and impressive profits this season already, and we stick with that market when testing our luck on Hibs 1-2 Celtic at a cracking 7/1.
The stats and trends show Celtic scored exactly two goals in each of their last two visits to Easter Road. Fans remember 2-1 was the result when the champions won here last February. Adam Idah scored a double that day, with both goals coming from the penalty spot either side of a strike from Dylan Levitt. The odds and trends make it a great bet.
