Hearts vs Dundee Prediction: Hosts set for cup redemption

After a 2-1 loss to Hibs in the Edinburgh Derby last time out, Hearts will be looking for something to pick them up in the Scottish Cup when they host Scottish Premiership strugglers Dundee, who are aiming for their first semi-final in this competition since 2006.
Here, we pick out the best bets for Friday evening’s Scottish Cup quarter-final clash, which will be played at Tynecastle (19:45, Premier Sports 1).
Hearts vs Dundee Betting Tips
Team News
Both teams have a number of injury issues coming into this cup clash. Craig Halkett, Frankie Kent, Stephen Kingsley, Cameron Declin and Yan Dhanda are all likely to miss out for Hearts.
For Dundee, key man Seb Palmer-Houlden, Antonio Portales, Billy Koumetio and Clark Robertson are all injury absentees. Scott Fraser is back in training but this game will come too soon for his return.
Hearts have been installed as 4/7 favourites for the victory, while Dundee are on offer at 9/2 and the draw is available at 13/5.
Goals are expected to a degree with over 2.5 at 5/6, while both teams to score is priced at 5/6 and it is 7/4 for over 1.5 goals in the first half.
Hearts and over 2.5 goals @ 6/4
Hearts were disappointing in their 2-1 defeat to Hibs last time out but they had been in good form before that and should be simply too strong for a Dundee team who have been poor this season.
The Jam Tarts have won seven of their last 11 matches in all competitions, including a 6-0 win in the league over these opponents recently.
In contrast, the Dee have lost five of their last seven outings in all competitions and are now just three points clear of St Johnstone in bottom spot in the league.
They have conceded 20 goals in their last seven games and that could be their undoing once more against a Hearts side who have been better going forward recently.
Side with Hearts to win, in a contest which looks set to also produce three or more goals.

Elton Kabangu to score at anytime @ 10/11
One of the big issues for Hearts this season has been the drop off in Lawrence Shankland’s goalscoring output.
Elton Kabangu has done a good job of replacing those goals since his January arrival, he has seven in nine games since his arrival, and looks a tempting price to get on the scoresheet once more when he takes on a leaky Dundee back line.
