Goztepe vs Galatasaray Prediction: Gala’s gas running low

Just a point separates Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor at the top of the Turkish Super Lig and the race for the title is very much on. Gala’s 2-1 loss at Trabzonspor has blown the battle wide open, but the Lions have the chance to hit back if they can win their game in hand at Goztepe.

Ismail Koybasi is out with an injury and Goztepe will also be without Malcom Bokele, who picked up another booking in last weekend’s 2-0 win at Genclerbirligi and is suspended.

Gabriel Sara, who missed the 2-1 loss to Trabzonspor through injury, is back in the squad ahead of schedule. There is more good news for Galatasaray with Leroy Sane back from suspension.

However, Victor Osimhen and Arda Unyay haven’t travelled to Izmir and Abdulkerim Bardakcı is banned following last weekend’s red card.

It’s testing times for Galatasaray, who were dumped out of the Champions League by Liverpool following a 4-0 Anfield defeat and were then beaten 2-1 at title rivals Trabzonspor last weekend.

Gala’s lead at the top of the Super Lig has been cut to only one point and now the pressure has ramped up.

Okan Buruk’s men need to find an answer at Goztepe and they can move four points clear should they win their game in hand on Wednesday night.

However, Gala have lost five of their last eight away matches, they have won only six of their last 14 on the road and Goztepe are robust enough to resist the Beyoglu boys.

Goztepe have been beaten in only three of their last seven matches, it’s just one defeat in İzmir all season for them and they make plenty of appeal alongside the draw on the double chance market.
