Monday evening action in La Liga this week comes from the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi, where relegation-threatened Girona host European hopefuls Real Mallorca (20:00, Premier Sports 1).

Abel Ruiz (hamstring) looks likely to miss a third consecutive game for Girona, but Bryan Gil (knee) and Ricardo Artero (ankle) could return after spells on the sideline.

Cristhian Stuani made just his second start of the season in Girona's last game, opening the scoring in a 1-1 draw with Leganes on April 24 for his fourth goal in his last seven appearances, and eighth for the season. The 38-year-old is set to lead the line again for Los Blanquivermells, with support in attack provided by Viktor Tsygankov and Portu.

Oriol Romeu could replace Arthur Melo in midfield as head coach Michel plots a first win since February 3.

Real Mallorca, meanwhile, are expected to be without Abdon Prats (calf), Vedat Muriqi, Takuma Asano, Robert Navarro and Manu Morlanes (all hamstring) due to injury.

However, Los Piratas can welcome back Daniel Rodriguez and Pablo Maffeo, who served suspensions in their last game, a 1-0 defeat to Barcelona on April 22.

Girona are winless in their last 11 La Liga games, yet Michel's men are 1/1 to claim all three points on Monday, implying a 50% probability, while Mallorca, who won the reverse fixture 2-1 in December, are 16/5, or a 23.8% chance, to do the double over their opponents.

The draw is priced at 11/5, both teams to score at 11/10, and over 2.5 total goals at 11/8.

Anytime Goalscorer - Cristhian Stuani (GIR) @ 7/4

It's been a dismal season for Girona, whose third-place finish in the 2023/24 campaign is a far cry from their current reality, which sees them hovering just above the relegation zone in 17th.

However, one player who can hold his head high is veteran forward Stuani, who has struck eight times in 27 league appearances, despite starting just twice. For context, Yangel Herrera and Arnaut Danjuma, joint-second in Girona's top scorer charts this season, are on four goals apiece in La Liga.

Stuani has really hit form since the start of March, netting four times in his last seven games, and he comes into Monday's contest having struck in back-to-back matches against Real Betis and Leganes.

His form should be rewarded with another start against Mallorca, and given his goalscoring exploits, Girona's desperation for a win and the fact they are playing at home, it's worth backing the Uruguayan to come up trumps again for them on Monday.

Player to Receive a Card - Yangel Herrera (GIR) @ 11/5

Girona midfielder Herrera picked up nine yellow cards in 29 La Liga appearances last season, and he's already on nine in 2024/25, having played four fewer matches.

The 27-year-old has also received one red card, back on Valentine's Day in a 2-1 defeat to Getafe, a game in which he scored Girona's only goal.

Herrera's last caution came against Barcelona in a 4-1 loss on March 30, with the Venezuela international managing to avoid a booking in his last four outings.

However, he's not been shy to stick a boot in, committing eight fouls across those four appearances, including three in Girona's last match, a 1-1 draw with Leganes on April 24, to bring his fouls per 90 minutes season average in La Liga up to 2.8.

On Monday, Herrera will be up against a few midfielders who know how to win a free-kick, not least Samu Costa, who averages 2.2 fouls won per 90 in the competition.
