Girona vs getafe predictions betting tips la liga friday february 14 2025

Six places separate Girona (eighth) and Getafe (14th) in the La Liga table ahead of their Friday night clash (20:00, Premier Sports Player) at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi, but a victory for the visitors would move Jose Bordalas' side to within a point of Michel's men.

Below are my Girona vs Getafe predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Girona vs Getafe Betting Tips

  • Player to Receive a Card - Juan Iglesias Sanchez (GET) @ 13/5
  • Double Chance - Draw or Getafe @ 4/5

Team News

Bojan Miovski (muscle) and Arnaut Danjuma (knee) missed last Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Athletic Club in Bilbao and the Girona pair are expected to sit out Friday's visit of Getafe.

Daley Blind returned from injury as a second-half substitute last weekend, and he could be considered for Michel's starting XI on Friday. Oriol Romeu, Yaser Asprilla and Arnau Martinez, who all started on the bench in Bilbao, could also come into their manager's thinking.

Football Odds

The visitors will be without Luis Milla's (muscle) services for a fourth successive fixture, but the rest of Bordalas' squad appear to be fully fit.

The Getafe starting XI could be unchanged from last Sunday's 1-0 win at Alaves, although last season's top scorer Borja Mayoral came on at the start of the second half for the third straight game and will be pushing for an opportunity from the off.

Girona vs Getafe Odds

Girona have lost five of their last six matches across all competitions, including three of their last four in La Liga, but the Blanquivermells are 21/20 to claim all three points on Friday, implying a 48.8% probability, while Getafe are 3/1, or a 25% chance, to make it four victories out of four on their league travels this calendar year.

The draw is priced at 11/5, both teams to score at 6/5, and over 2.5 total goals at 13/8.

Player to Receive a Card - Juan Iglesias Sanchez (GET) @ 13/5

Getafe right-back Juan Iglesias has featured in all 23 of his side's La Liga games this season, starting 19 of them, including the last nine.

The 26-year-old has picked up three yellow cards and needs just one more to equal his league total in 2023/24, although he has some way to match his highest season tally of eight in 2022/23.

He looks a good bet to make it four cautions for the campaign on Friday with Bryan Gil likely to be lining up on the left-hand side of the Girona attack. Gil has been fouled, on average, 1.6 times per game in La Liga this term, while Iglesias is averaging 1.4 fouls per game in the competition.

Iglesias committed two fouls when the sides met in November's reverse fixture at the Coliseum, although neither were on Gil who, despite generally playing on the right-hand side that day, did in fact upend the Getafe defender on one occasion.

I expect the two players to come into contact more on Friday, however, and that could spell danger for Iglesias, who looks a decent price to receive a second yellow in his last four games.

Double Chance - Draw or Getafe @ 4/5

Girona may hold a superior position in the standings but the form book points toward Getafe taking at least a point back to Madrid on Friday night.

Bordalas' side haven't lost in La Liga this calendar year and have won all three competition away games in 2025, beating Las Palmas (1-2), Real Sociedad (0-3) and Alaves (0-1). Are they about to make it four travel wins on the spin?

That might be pushing things slightly, although you certainly wouldn't rule it out as a possibility given Girona's poor form.

Michel's men can at least point to a victory over Las Palmas (2-1) last time out at the Montilivi, however, and 19 of their 31 points in La Liga this season have come on home soil.

Girona beat the Azulones 3-0 in the corresponding fixture last season and triumphed 1-0 in Madrid earlier in the current campaign, so they do have recent history on their side in this fixture.

I still don't think they can win this one, though. Getafe have kept three consecutive clean sheets - two on the bounce away from home - and they can frustrate yet another opponent this week.

Take the visitors on the double chance result at 4/5 here.
