The hosts are going to be missing a quartet of key players in Cristhian Stuani, Borja Garcia, Joel Roca and Ricard Artero due to injury. No fresh injuries were picked up against Alaves, but Michel could freshen things up for the visit of Villarreal, which could see Aleix Garcia return to the starting lineup.

Santia Comesana will be available for Villarreal after serving his one-game suspension against Sevilla at the weekend. The Yellow Submarine do have some injuries of their own as Yeremy Pino, Denis Suarez, Alfonso Pedraza, Alberto Moreno, Gerard Moreno and Juan Foyth are all sidelined.

They may have been held to a draw at the weekend but I'm expecting Girona to get back to winning ways in midweek on home soil. The Catalonian side have won 14 of their 17 league matches at Montivili this season, including their last five.

Villarreal will provide a tough test for them to make it six in a row but I do believe the second-placed side will show their quality. Due to the threat the visitors pose, I have added both teams to score to boost the odds and I do see their star striker Sorloth causing all sorts of problems for Michel's team.

There is quality on both sides, and while there are injuries among both squads, I'm still expecting a high-quality affair. Both teams to score has landed in 53% (9/17) of Girona's fixtures at home this season and with Villarreal having been in good form of late, I don't see the hosts keeping a clean sheet in this particular victory.

This game certainly provides an exciting showdown in the race for the Pichichi Trophy as Dovbyk and Sorloth go head-to-head. The latter's brace against Sevilla has put pressure on his Girona counterpart as now just one goal separates them with three games left to play.

Both players have six goals in as many games in the last few weeks and so everything points towards a stunning showdown between the pair, although Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham cannot be discounted with his stunning 18-goal haul so far in his debut campaign in the Spanish top-flight.
