Fulham vs Southampton Prediction: Comfortable afternoon in store for hosts

Fulham will look to continue their impressive run of form on Sunday as they welcome Southampton to Craven Cottage (14:00, live on Sky Sports Main Event).
The Cottagers held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw at Anfield last weekend, while Southampton started life after Russell Martin with a 2-1 defeat to the Reds in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. Read on for my Fulham vs Southampton prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.
Team News
Marco Silva will be unable to call upon the services of the injured trio Reiss Nelson, Joachim Andersen and Harrison Reed, while Andreas Pereira is also unavailable through suspension.
Rodrigo Muniz will be hoping to be rewarded for his heroics at Anfield last week with a place in the starting XI, while Emile Smith Rowe could be in line for a start due to Pereira's absence.
As for the visitors, Jack Stephens remains suspended and Aaron Ramsdale continues to recover from a broken finger. Will Smallbone and Ross Stewart are both expected to miss out again here.

Fulham are 2/5 to claim the three points, giving them an implied win probability of 71.4%, while the draw is available at 4/1 and the Saints can be backed at 13/2.
Raul Jimenez leads the anytime goalscorer market at 21/20, while Paul Onuachu is shortest-priced for the visitors at 11/4.
Fulham to win @ 2/5
Fulham are currently enjoying a stellar season under Silva, and head into this weekend's contest sat in eighth place in the Premier League table with 24 points from 16 games.
A European spot could be the aspiration for the Cottagers this term, and they may even look to strengthen in the upcoming January transfer window to bolster their chances of a top-seven finish.
Meanwhile, Southampton are in panic mode having sacked Martin after the 5-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, and they're currently languishing at the foot of the table with just one win to their name and a whopping 36 goals conceded.
Fulham’s recent 2-2 draw against league leaders Liverpool further illustrates their resilience, and it's difficult to see anything other than a miserable afternoon for the Saints.

Fulham to win both halves @ 11/5
Which leads me nicely onto my next tip - Fulham to win both halves.
This bet landed for the hosts in recent meetings with Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace, meaning that they've won both halves in 13 per cent of their matches this term - only Liverpool, Manchester City, Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United have a higher average than the Cottagers.
Silva's side should have too much quality for the visitors from the first whistle - they've scored 12 first-half goals this campaign, only four teams in the division have scored more.
Given Southampton's struggles on the road - winless in eight games - I'm expecting a comfortable afternoon for the hosts on Sunday.
