Fulham vs Manchester City Prediction: Citizens to secure their spot in the Champions League

Manchester City head into the final day of the Premier League season with their destiny in their hands. Their 3-1 triumph over AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday has set them up nicely for their trip to Fulham on Sunday (16:00). A win for the Citizens would secure their place in the Uefa Champions League next season.
Fulham will try and flip the script, like they have done against a couple of the teams in the top six this season. Read on for my Fulham vs Manchester City vs Fulham predictions, accompanied by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Fulham are missing Reiss Nelson (hamstring), Rodrigo Muniz (Achilles), Harrison Reed (calf) and Timothy Castagne (ankle) due to injury.
Boss Marco Silva may consider handing starts to Harry Wilson and Tom Cairney, who both came off the bench to inspire the Cottagers to victory at Brentford last time out. The pair were both on the scoresheet and may just have played their way into Sunday's team.
Raul Jimenez notched his 12th league goal of the campaign and he will continue to lead the line for the hosts. Bernd Leno will operate between the sticks, likely shielded by a back four of Antonee Robinson, Calvin Bassey, Joachim Andersen and Kenny Tete.
Sasa Lukic and Sander Berge are expected to run the engine room once again, while Emile Smith Rowe should remain in the number 10 role.
Fulham vs Manchester City Stats
- Man City won the reverse fixture 3-2
- City have won six of their last eight matches in the PL
- Fulham have scored first against each of the current top seven teams this season
City welcomed back midfielder Rodri against Bournemouth and he could be thrown into the starting XI on Sunday as the result of Mateo Kovacic's straight red card on Tuesday night.
Nico Gonzalez is another option in the middle of the park, who came on to score in Tuesday's victory. Kevin De Bruyne bid the Etihad Stadium farewell and he could be set for his final Premier League start as a City player in west London.
Oscar Bobb and Nathan Ake were both fit to make the bench in midweek, providing Pep Guardiola with more options for the weekend.
Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush are expected to continue in attack but there could be room for Jeremy Doku in the final third on Sunday.
Fulham vs Manchester City Odds
Fulham have won two of their past four home games in the league and they are 9/2 to stun City.
The visitors have drawn two of their previous three away trips in the top flight and the stalemate is on offer at 7/2. The Citizens are 3/5 to collect the three points. They defeated Fulham 3-2 in the reverse fixture back in October, and Man City and both teams to score is priced at 7/4, which has an implied probability of 36.4%.
Fulham's last two appearances in the league produced over 3.5 goals, which was the case in their last tussle with City. This was also a successful bet in Man City's contest with Bournemouth on Tuesday. Over 3.5 goals is on offer at 5/4 this time around.
Man City and both teams to score @ 7/4
After suffering FA Cup final heartache at Wembley last Saturday, Man City responded brilliantly to win their match with Bournemouth in the week, which has propelled them up to third in the table.
They know that a victory at Fulham will secure them Champions League football, and given they have no silverware this term, this is something they cannot afford to lose.
Fulham pose a threat at Craven Cottage, having bested Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Newcastle United here, while Arsenal were held to a draw when they made the trip to this part of west London.
Additionally, City only narrowly beat them at the Etihad earlier in the season, so Silva's men can be a nuisance on Sunday. However, Fulham have nothing riding on the final day so all the pressure is on City, who I think will deliver a similar performance to the one they gave against Bournemouth.

First team to score - Fulham @ 7/4
I do think that Fulham can throw a spanner in the works, though, which could end up sparking City into life. The Cottagers have shown to be fast starters at times this campaign, and they have had a habit of opening the scoring against teams sat in the European places.
So far this term they have scored the opening goal against: Man City, Newcastle United (x2), Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest (x2).
If City start the game casually, the Whites have the potential to spring a trap and profit, especially if the speedy Adama Traore, who has tormented the visitors several times in the past, is in the team.
