Fulham vs Brentford Bet Builder Tips: Bassey to be booked in 11/1 punt

Fulham welcome Brentford to Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Monday (20:00, Sky Sports Main Event) looking to end a run of three matches without a win. They were denied a victory late on at Everton last time out thanks to an injury-time equaliser.
Brentford won a seven-goal thriller against Ipswich Town last week, and they will look to build on that against their west London rivals. Read on for my Fulham vs Brentford bet builder tips which pay out at 11/1.

Both teams to score
There is little to separate these two teams heading into Monday's clash, with Brentford sitting in ninth and Fulham in 10th, with just a single point between them. A win for either side could propel them higher up the table and potentially just outside the European spots, so they will both be fired up for this one, especially with local bragging rights at stake.
Interestingly both these teams have scored the same amount of goals they've conceded in the top-flight - 12 for the Cottagers and 18 for the visitors. I think a result is a tough one to call here because both teams have looked good at times this term, and as I mentioned above, there is little to separate them.
I like the look of both teams to score, though, because it has been a winning selection in all four of Fulham's league matches at Craven Cottage this term, and seven of their nine fixtures overall.
For Brentford, eight of their nine clashes have seen both teams find the back of the net, including three of their four trips on the road, so I'm confident we will see this market strike on Monday night.
Over 2.5 goals
Goals have also been frequent in games involving the Bees this campaign, so I also think it is worth backing over 2.5 goals on this occasion. There have been at least three goals scored in seven of Brentford's Premier League matches so far, including three of their four outings away from home.
Their strike partnership of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have started the season in fine fashion, with them netting eight and five goals respectively. Only Manchester City's Erling Haaland (11) has scored more than Cameroon international Mbeumo, who is continuing to show why he is the main man for the Bees.
Over 2.5 goals has landed in three of Fulham's four clashes at Craven Cottage in the top-flight, so I think this all points to us being treated to a few goals on Monday in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Bryan Mbeumo anytime goalscorer
With the form that he is in at the moment, how can I not back this man to get on the scoresheet in this part of west London? He has scored five in as many appearances in the league in recent weeks, including a brace against Ipswich last weekend.
Interestingly, just one of his eight goals have come away from the Gtech Community Stadium this year, so he will be eager to translate his home form into away matches. With this clash only coming down the road and staying in London, I wonder if this match can act as a catalyst to help him start scoring more goals on the road.
He's coming up against a side that are winless in their last three, so there will be a lack of confidence from the hosts. He, however, has loads in abundance and I am expecting another stellar performance from him in a Brentford shirt, so I believe he will grab his ninth goal of the season.
Calvin Bassey to receive a card
With this being a west London derby, I think we could be in for a feisty encounter full of tackles and aggression. One player who likes both is Fulham defender Calvin Bassey, who is going to have a tough brief in trying to keep Mbeumo and Wissa quiet at Craven Cottage.
The Nigerian has been penalised for eight fouls in the first nine games of the season and he has been shown three yellow cards already, suggesting that a lot of the challenges that he is putting in are reckless.
I expect we will see a few of these on Monday as he tries to deal with one of the best attacking duos in the division, who will look to target the defenders one-on-one throughout the match. Bassey may be successful with a couple, but I think there are times where the attackers will get the better of him and he will be forced into making a foul or two.
So I think he's worth backing to go into the book.
