Chelsea picked up a much-needed victory when beating Brighton at Stamford Bridge in the EFL Cup on Wednesday and the Blues will need to build on that triumph if they are to start climbing the Premier League table.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are down in 15th place after winning only one of their opening six top-flight matches and a trip to west London rivals Fulham may not provide the tonic the Blues are seeking.

Fulham have only lost two matches in all competitions this season and one of those defeats came against league-leading Manchester City.

The Cottagers have beaten Tottenham in the EFL Cup, they picked up Premier League wins against Everton and Luton and they will be well motivated to put more pressure on a struggling Chelsea side.

Chelsea grabbed a much-needed victory when beating Brighton in the EFL Cup on Wednesday but there are no guarantees of that victory being repeated at Craven Cottage.

The Blues have seen a huge turnover in players, but those chances don’t appear to have made any real improvement to Chelsea’s squad and the club doesn’t appear to have been managed in an efficient and effective manner but those above manager Pochettino.

On the field, a victory at Luton is the only win Chelsea have managed in the top-flight this term and the Blues have been beaten by Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and West Ham this season.

Goalscoring is a major issue for a Stamford Bridge side that have notched only one goal in their last four games and the cause isn’t helped by the suspension of striker Jackson.

Fulham have lost only two games this season, the Cottagers have been good enough to beat Spurs in the EFL Cup and take a point from a trip to face Arsenal in the Premier League and there looks a lot to like about Marco Silva’s side on Monday night.

Under 2.5 goals @ 4/5

Only one of the last four meetings between these sides has gone over 2.5 goals and the latest games between the west London teams ended 0-0.

Chelsea have scored just one goal in their last four matches and they have only found the net on one occasion in three Premier League away days.

Fulham kept a clean sheet at Palace in their latest top-flight contest after also beating Luton 1-0 at Craven Cottage in the league.

Silva’s side have appeared defensively solid enough to keep this game under the 2.5-goal mark.
