Poland will finish bottom of their Euro 2024 group after failing to pick up a point from their first two games, but before they exit Germany, the Eagles face one more test against France at Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund) on Tuesday (17:00, BBC One).

Read below for my France vs Poland prediction as Les Bleus go in search of a victory that could secure them top spot ahead of the Netherlands and Austria, who play simultaneously on Tuesday.

France vs Poland Betting Tips

  • France to win to nil @ 1/1
  • Antoine Griezmann first scorer @ 5/1
  • France to win 2-0 @ 11/2

Team News

Didier Deschamps must decide whether to keep things as they are or make changes after a couple of games in quick succession. The France head coach made just one alteration for the goalless draw with the Netherlands and that was an enforced one after Kylian Mbappe's facial injury in the 1-0 victory over Austria prevented him from starting.

Aurelien Tchouameni came into the side for Mbappe, allowing Antoine Griezmann to push further forward. Still, France failed to fire against the Dutch, and no member of their squad has scored yet in the tournament (their winner against Austria was a Max Wober own goal).

It remains to be seen whether Mbappe is fit enough to return to the starting XI on Tuesday, but against a pretty poor Poland side, it's more likely he begins the game on the bench again. Kingsley Coman, Bradley Barcola and Olivier Giroud are options if Deschamps wants to freshen up the attack, while defender Ibrahima Konate will be hoping for his first minutes of the tournament.

Poland welcomed Robert Lewandowski back to the side in their 3-1 defeat to Austria after their record goalscorer missed the 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands through injury, so the Barcelona striker should get a start back at his old stomping ground in Dortmund.

With nothing but pride to play for, Poland could make several changes, handing opportunities to fringe players like Kamal Grosicki and Karol Swiderski, who both ended the match against Austria playing alongside Lewandowski.

France are heavy favourites (2/7) to inflict a third straight group defeat on Poland, giving them an implied win probability of 77.8%, while their opponents can be backed at 9/1, giving them a 10% chance.

The draw is available at 5/1, both teams to score at 1/1, and over 2.5 goals at 4/7.

France to win to nil @ 1/1

France may have struggled in attack so far this tournament, but they are one of just two teams - alongside Spain - not to have conceded in Germany, and after keeping two clean sheets against Luxembourg and Canada in the build-up to Euro 2024, Les Bleus are now targeting a fifth successive shutout on Tuesday.

Poland did score against both the Netherlands and Austria, but with their qualification hopes now over, there may be less motivation on their part.

Even with the potential return of Lewandowski to the starting XI, France's resolute defence could be tough to breach, and I expect them to win with the minimum of fuss in Dortmund.

France to win to nil vs Poland at 1-1

Antoine Griezmann first scorer @ 5/1

France registered 15 shot attempts against the Netherlands, and Griezmann was responsible for five of them. The Atletico Madrid attacker had their best opportunities but was unable to take advantage of any of them.

Still, in the absence of Mbappe, Griezmann looks Les Bleus' biggest threat, and I would be surprised to see him continue this wastefulness in front of goal against Poland.

The 33-year-old is usually so reliable for his national team, and I think Deschamps will count on him again on Tuesday, whereas the likes of Marcus Thuram and Ousmane Dembele could be rotated for others.

Antoine Griezmann first scorer in France vs Poland at 5-1

France to win 2-0 @ 11/2

I've already discussed why I don't expect Poland to get on the scoresheet, so the only question that remains is how many I think France will score.

Les Bleus have struggled for any real fluency going forward thus far, with an Austrian own goal the only strike to their name in the competition.

But Poland should provide the perfect opposition for them to get some confidence in attack after conceding five times across their first two games.

Therefore, I'm backing France to net a couple on Tuesday, though I'm not willing to go any further than two as I suspect Deschamps will be happy just to record a comfortable victory and keep the clean sheet run going.

correct score - France 2-0 vs Poland at 11-2
