It was two wins from three for our Italian football expert Daniele Fisichella last week in his Best Bets column to record a profitable return for those who have been following his work.

As always Daniele has picked out three bets that he likes as he takes us through his Serie A Football Betting Tips for Matchday 3 from Italy...

Football Betting Tips - Serie A Best Bets Week 3

  • Bologna vs Empoli - Under 2.5 Goals @ 4/6
  • Lazio vs Milan - Double Chance (Milan/Draw) & Under 2.5 Goals @ 15/8
  • Udinese vs Como - Double Chance (Udinese/Draw) & Under 3.5 Goals @ 4/6

Bologna seek to recover from a poor start against Empoli, who come off their first-ever Serie A away win in Rome. Goals may be scarce, with recent trends suggesting a low-scoring affair.

On Saturday evening Lazio face AC Milan, both sides struggling for form; expect a tactical battle with potential for a draw or Milan win. Udinese, unbeaten this season, host newly-promoted Como; backing the hosts or a draw with fewer goals seems wise.

  • Bologna searching for a new identity
  • Two managers under pressure
  • Como’s tricky run continues

Bologna vs Empoli (Saturday, 17:30)

Bologna will look to bounce back from a tough start to their Serie A campaign as they host the Tuscan side this weekend.

Bologna have suffered two defeats in their last four league outings – equalling their total losses from the previous 18 games. Despite a spirited performance against Napoli, a harsh 3-0 defeat suggests room for improvement.

Empoli, however, arrive with newfound confidence after securing their first-ever away win in Serie A at the ‘Stadio Olimpico’ and back-to-back victories against Roma.

Goals may be scarce, with both sides struggling offensively; Bologna have seen seven of their last nine games end with under three goals, while Empoli recorded just six away games over 2.5 goals last season.

The hosts have won their last two meetings with Empoli without conceding, but with Empoli unbeaten in five of their last six games, a tight contest is expected at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Tip: Under 2.5 Goals 4/6

Lazio vs AC Milan (Saturday, 19:45)

Lazio's recent 2-1 loss to Udinese highlighted ongoing issues of inconsistency.

The team’s struggles were evident as they failed to capitalize on their numerical advantage after Udinese went down to ten men. Baroni’s line-up decisions, and in particular the exclusion of Rovella, and Lazio’s predictable attack have fuelled discussions about the need for tactical and personnel changes.

AC Milan also enters this match with a sense of urgency following a shock 2-1 defeat to Parma. Milan's defense showed vulnerabilities, while their attack, despite high hopes, has lacked coherence.

Paulo Fonseca’s tactical adjustments and player performances, particularly from Rafael Leão and Christian Pulisic, will be pivotal in addressing Milan's recent struggles.

Both managers are under pressure to deliver, making this encounter a significant test of their teams' resilience and adaptability. With both sides struggling for form, expect a tense and strategic battle, where a moment of individual brilliance could tip the scales.

Tip: Milan or Draw and Under 2.5 Goals @ 15/8

Udinese vs Como (Sunday, 19:45)

Udinese, currently unbeaten this season, have made a solid start with four points from their opening two games, including a 2-1 victory over Lazio that showcased the impressive form of Florian Thauvin.

In contrast, Como, newly promoted and backed by high-profile signings such as Belotti and Varane, have struggled to find their rhythm. With only one point from their first two matches and a disappointing showing in their Coppa Italia campaign, Cesc Fàbregas's side will be eager to bounce back and prove their worth.

The Friulani have not lost in their last seven Serie A games and have a strong home record. Their last two Serie A home fixtures ended with both teams scoring, and they have shown resilience in tight matches.

Tip: Udinese or Draw and Under 3.5 Goals @ 4/6
