Football Betting Tips: Best Bets from La Liga for Matchday 5

It has been feast or famine for our La Liga expert in his Best Bet columns so far this season and last time out there was no food to eat. You can't win 'em all but going by his recent record, this indicates this could well be a good week.
As always, he picks out his three Best Football Betting Tips from across La Liga this weekend and goes into detail on each selection...
Footbal Betting Tips - La Liga Matchday 5
Sevilla vs Getafe (Saturday, 17:30)
Two winless teams meet in this clash at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and it's already a pressure game for Sevilla and their recently appointed boss García Pimienta.
He's trying to implement a passing style, similar to the one he utilised with success in the first half of last season at Las Palmas. Very much a product of the "Barça way", Pimienta marks a change in tact from Sevilla who have hired and fired their way through a number of coaches since Julen Lopetegui departed two years ago.
There have been some promising aspects to their early performances, but doubts remain as to whether Sevilla really have the personnel to thrive playing that style of football. They went into the international break after a 2-0 home defeat against Girona and they have some major absentees here with Loïc Badé, Saúl Ñíguez and Albert Sambi Lokonga unavailable.
Those are three players who may end up forming a big part of the spine of this team, so their early season absence is far from ideal and will offer encouragement to Getafe.
The visitors still have issues in the final third with last season's top scorer Borja Mayoral yet to return from injury, while new strikers Alvaro Rodríguez and Bertug Yildirim are also rated doubtful for this match.
As a result, Pepe Bordalás has focused on making them difficult to beat, which is usually his main objective in any case. Getafe have started the campaign by playing five across the middle, with midfielder Christantus Uche often filling in as an emergency striker.
They've drawn all three matches to date, with their last two ending goalless. There was a combined total of just one shot on target across those two most recent games with Getafe restricting Rayo Vallecano to just three attempts and Real Sociedad to only one last time out.
The visitors will be hoping to do something similar to Sevilla here. With García Pimienta having gone 18 matches as a La Liga boss without registering a victory, I'm using the #PickYourPunt tool to back Under 2.5 goals and Double chance - Getafe or Draw at 5/4.

Celta Vigo vs Real Valladolid (Sunday, 13:00)
For anyone in search of entertainment so far this season in Spain, Celta Vigo have been the team to watch with 19 goals in their four games, more than any other side in La Liga.
Claudio Giráldez has been a breath of fresh air since he replaced Rafa Benítez at Balaídos at the back-end of last season. He has a 50% win ratio across his 14 league games in charge with two victories and two defeats so far this term.
While they do have defensive issues, things have really clicked in the final third, with Iago Aspas still pulling the strings at the age of 37. He's already scored twice this term while fellow forward Borja Iglesias has scored in back-to-back matches following a loan move from Real Betis, suggesting he may be getting back towards the level that earned him a Spain call-up, after a frustrating 2023/24 season.
20-year-old midfielder Williot Swedberg averages a goal every 110 minutes across his La Liga career to date, while wing-back Óscar Mingueza has been an absolute revelation so far this season, scoring twice and assisting three in four outings. No player in the Spanish top flight has more goal contributions.
With so many players firing, Celta have to fancy they can score goals in this home match against a Real Valladolid side that conceded seven in their last outing. While they did run into a Barcelona team that was on top of their game, it was a humiliating experience for the new boys and a rude awakening to life at this level.
They clearly have some obvious flaws that the better sides are going to be able to exploit. They have an inexperienced keeper in the shape of Arsenal loanee Karl Hein, while they are trying to construct a new central defensive pairing, with Eray Cömert and Cenk Özkacar the most likely starters here.
This is shaping up to be another tough game for the newly promoted side and I'm backing Over 1.5 Celta Vigo goals at 8/11, a winning bet in each of the Galician club's last seven league games.

Las Palmas vs Athletic Club (Sunday, 17:30)
Athletic were one of the success stories in Spanish football last season, winning the Copa del Rey to end a 40-year wait for one of the big two trophies. However, it does feel as though their level has dropped since they won that competition back in April.
It's just four wins from 12 league outings since then. The Basques slipped out of top four contention at the end of last season in La Liga as a result of a dip in form, and things haven't really clicked in an attacking sense since the start of this campaign, with just three goals scored in four matches to date.
It's no secret that the Europa League, the final of which is in Bilbao, is going to be a big priority for them this term. Nico Williams has cited it as one of the main reasons he remains at San Mamés after a summer which saw Barcelona came calling, but Ernesto Valverde will want to see his forward players start to produce a bit more.
Neither of the Williams brothers, nor last season's top scorer Gorka Guruzeta, have registered a goal or an assist yet in La Liga 2024/25 and they succumbed to a late 1-0 home defeat against Atlético Madrid in their last match. Their form raises questions about whether they're capable of leaving Gran Canaria with all the points on Sunday.
Las Palmas have performed well in their two home games to date, holding both Sevilla and Real Madrid to draws. While it's still a winless start overall, there have been some encouraging signs and positives for new boss Luis Carrión to cling to.
Oli McBurnie has made a promising start to his La Liga career with a couple of assists and while he's yet to score, the former Sheffield United man has given them much more of a physical presence up front than was the case last season.
Carrión will also like what he's seen from youngster Alberto Moleiro, the latest big Canarian football prospect. He scored a fine goal against Real Madrid, while we've also seen some positive things from José Campaña in their last two matches. He's a classy midfielder at his best, but has struggled badly with injuries in recent years.
With Athletic not quite firing yet and the hosts competing well in front of their own supporters, I'm backing Double chance - Las Palmas or Draw at 4/5 here.
