After a spectacular run through the end of February and early part of March, the past couple of Matchdays in La Liga haven't been kind to our Spanish Football Betting Expert but this feels like a good week to get back on track.
However, he's back again this week with his Football Betting Tips for Matchday 30 as he picks out his three Best Bets from La Liga. You can find his reasoning below....

Girona vs Alavés (Saturday 13:00)
Saturday's action in Spain kicks off at Montilivi. Girona have won just one of their last 12 competitive games to fall into the bottom half of the table, but things aren't going any better at Alavés with the Basque side just one place outside the relegation zone heading into the weekend.
Girona's decline this season has been dramatic, although not entirely unexpected. Míchel is still trying to play positive football, and he's a coach with a relatively clear idea of how he wants his teams to operate.
He has less quality at his disposal this term though and few of the raft of summer signings have truly taken their opportunity to shine in what was a Champions League team until January.
They did get on the scoresheet away to Catalan rivals Barcelona last time out, but their defensive flaws were ultimately exposed in a 4-1 defeat. They'd been involved in three straight score draws in La Liga prior to that, and they should certainly pose a goal threat in this game with the likes of Arnaut Danjuma and Viktor Tsygankov up against one of the weaker teams in the division.
Alavés have been competing reasonably well and creating chances under Chacho Coudet who was appointed back in December. They've created at least 1.0 xG in each of their last seven games in La Liga, but they have been a bit wasteful in front of goal at times, including last weekend when their survival hopes were dented by a 2-0 home defeat against Rayo Vallecano.
Their recent away showings have been pretty good though, with their last three road games all ending in score draws, with six goals scored across that period. With Girona in such poor form, they'll certainly see this as an opportunity to pick up some points, and they're in good shape on the selection front with suspended right-back Nahuel Tenaglia the only player they are likely to be missing for this one.
Given that, I can see this being relatively open and I'm backing Both teams to score at 10/11, a winning bet in 64% of Girona home games and 73% of Alavés away games in La Liga this term.
Real Valladolid vs Getafe (Sunday 17:30)
Real Valladolid are now 10 points adrift at the bottom of La Liga and 11 points from safety with just nine to play. It's safe to assume at this point that they will be playing Segunda División football next season.
On current evidence, it'd be no surprise at all if they failed to win another game. What already looked like the most limited squad in the Spanish top flight was hit by departures in January, and while a number of players came in, none were really of the level required to make much impact in one of the toughest leagues in the world.
The anger and resentment towards their owner, the former Real Madrid and Brazil striker Ronaldo, has only grown and the Estadio José Zorrilla has been a pretty miserable place this season.
Real Valladolid head into this game having taken just one point from their last 10 league fixtures and it's hard not to sympathise with their caretaker boss Álvaro Rubio who has an impossible job on his hands.
Things are unlikely to get any better on Sunday. Getafe have tended to be a team that does well at home, but struggles away across the two spells of Pepe Bordalás, a divisive figure in Spain but already a legendary figure at the Coliseum.
However, they have really bucked that trend so far in 2025. Some decent business in January has given the Getafe boss more options in wide and attacking areas and they've started to really enjoy life on the road, winning five of their last six away games in La Liga.
A brace from Ramon Terrats sealed a 2-1 win in their last away match against Osasuna, despite a late red card for Christantus Uche. Neither of those players were available to play at home to Villarreal last weekend, but both should return here with Bordalás expected to have a full squad to pick from.
They'll really fancy their chances against a Real Valladold side that is missing two players to suspension, while the home team's first choice keeper Karl Hein also misses out through injury. I'm backing Getafe to win at 19/20.
Villarreal vs Athletic Club (Sunday 20:00)
This is perhaps the pick of the weekend fixtures in Spain. It involves two teams that currently look on course to secure Champions League football, with 5th place expected to be enough given the mostly strong showing from Spanish clubs in Europe this term.
However, with Real Betis reeling off six straight wins to enter the race for a top-five finish, Villarreal and Athletic Club both have plenty of work to do if they want to secure a place at Europe's top table.
Of the two sides, Athletic are a slightly more complete team. They certainly have the edge at the back, with Spain's number one Unai Simón operating behind a solid back four. It may even be their first-choice defence in this game, which hasn't been the case in recent weeks, with key centre-back Dani Vivian returning to fitness.
Top scorer Oihan Sancet should also be fit enough to feature, so this ought to be a very strong Athletic side that takes to the field at the Estadi de la Ceràmica, with midfielder Íñigo Ruiz de Galarreta the only injury concern for Ernesto Valverde.
With star player Nico Williams just coming into form, after an unconvincing first half of the campaign, they should be really competitive in this game. The Basque giants have been tough to beat all season, losing just once in 25 league matches against teams currently below them in the table.
That solitary defeat came at Girona in a match when Athletic somehow contrived to miss three penalties, and even against the top three they have competed well, not losing a single league game this term by more than a single goal.
Villarreal will therefore need to be on the very top of their game if they want to win this. They have tightened up at the back in the second half of the season, with Juan Foyth's return to fitness having a stabilising impact on their defence.
However, there are still positions where Marcelino doesn't seem fully convinced by any of his options. The former Athletic boss made a change in goal last weekend, with Luiz Júnior preferred to Diego Conde, while there are still some doubts at centre-back with a big error from Willy Kambwala leading to a goal last weekend at Getafe.
Álex Baena and Ayoze Pérez continue to provide real quality in attacking areas, but they lack the consistency of their opponents in this game, and a record of just five wins from 13 home league fixtures this season is pretty poor for a team with serious Champions League aspirations.
With the visiting team's last four league matches serving up just four goals total, I'm using the Bet Builder to back Draw or Athletic Club and Under 3.5 goals at 6/5 here.
