Football Bet of the Day: 4/1 for Leicester man to strike again

Monday night football comes from the Championship this week in an all-Midlands affair as Leicester City host West Bromwich Albion at the King Power Stadium (20:00 GMT, Sky Sports Main Event).
Both sides head into this clash with two wins and three defeats in their previous five appearances in the second tier. It is from this contest that I have picked out my Football Bet of the Day, which you can check out below.
Football Bet of the Day - Monday, January 5
- Anytime Goalscorer - Jordan James @ 4/1
*Odds correct at time of publication
Leicester are 9/5 to come out on top here, which may appeal as Albion have the fourth-worst away record in the division.
The two teams played out a 1-1 draw earlier in the campaign at The Hawthorns, with the stalemate priced at 21/10 - and the 1-1 scoreline marketed at 5/1.
West Brom are 8/5 to collect the three points on this occasion. Both teams to score - Yes is available at 4/5.
I think given the inconsistent form of both teams, a result-based bet is best to avoid for our Bet of the Day. Instead, I have sought value in the goalscorer markets and there is one player who jumps out on current form and that is Leicester's Jordan James.
The midfielder, on loan from Rennes, has been a key figure for the Foxes this term in a campaign that has not been going to plan so far. The former Birmingham City man has bagged eight goals in the Championship this term, the most of any Leicester player.
The 21-year-old heads into Monday's clash in a good run of form, having found the net in each of the last three league matches, which should give him plenty of confidence.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Jordan James (LEI) has scored in each of his last three league games
- He is Leicester's top scorer in the Championship with eight goals
Whether he plays in advanced or deeper midfield role, James is continually having an impact on matches and his eye for goal can go back to his beginnings at Birmingham. He has already equalled his tally from his final season with the Blues in 2023/24, so he is on course to set a new personal record by some margin.
The Welsh international should fancy his chances to continue his hot streak purely on the basis of West Brom having one of the weakest away records in the division. The Baggies have lost 10 of their 13 road trips so far, including each of the previous nine.
Three points separate the two teams heading into this contest a with them both sat in the bottom half of the table, this is a game they will both deem must-win if they wish to pull themselves back into play-off contention.
Both sides have individuals who can step up and deliver a decisive moment but right now the one player who looks like they are capable of doing that is James. And at 4/1 I believe he offers good value to strike for the fourth consecutive match.
