Football Bet of the Day: Salford can see off Bromley in goalfest

There are four EFL fixtures on Tuesday night with two games in the Championship and two in League 2, as well as a couple of cup games from across Europe.
I’ve delved into the fourth tier for Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day and Salford City should be able to get their promotion bid back on track when they entertain a Bromley outfit (19:45, Sky Sports+) who are meandering towards a mid-table finish in their first-ever season in the Football League.
Football Bet of the Day - Tuesday, February 4
- Salford City to win and both teams to score @ 16/5
Salford are on a four-game winless run since they took an 8-0 hammering at neighbours Manchester City in the FA Cup last month, but Tuesday’s game looks like a good opportunity to get back to winning ways.
The Ammies sit one place and three points below Bradford City in the final play-off spot so a win over Bromley would be potentially huge in their promotion bid, and they are facing another out-of-form outfit as the Londoners are winless in six.
Salford have been strong at home lately with six wins in their last eight games, losing just once.
Bromley have impressed in their debut season in the Football League and look set to comfortably avoid being dragged into any real danger, but the promotion spots are out of reach and they come into the game in poor form with just one point to show from their last five league games.
Bromley have actually been better on their travels than they have at their Hayes Lane home, with five of their eight League 2 wins coming on the road, but they are winless in their last three away league games and may come unstuck against a Salford side who have a chance to put some pressure on the teams above them.
Karl Robinson’s side gave pacesetters Walsall a scare at the weekend as they twice took the lead before having to settle for a point and they can build on that performance with three points against Bromley.
A standard home win pays out at 1/1 and there is real appeal in that, particularly if you’re putting together an accumulator, but it could be worth taking a bigger risk and backing an Ammies win with goals at both ends at a far juicier 16/5.
Salford went six games without conceding until they ran into Man City and since then they’ve shipped seven goals in total in their last four league games.
Bromley have scored in eight of their last nine road assignments, including in defeat at Newcastle in the FA Cup third round, and have managed 17 goals in 14 away games in this competition so they can at least strike in defeat in the north west on Tuesday.
