Football Bet of the Day: Saturday night’s alright for the Paraguayan second division

Once again we’ve spun the globe looking for our Football Bet of the Day for Saturday, June 15, and having enjoyed our time in Paraguay on Friday, we are returning to the South American nation once more.

Deportivo Capiata vs Club Sol de America Odds

Deportivo Capiata are in the race to win automatic promotion to the top flight of Paraguayan football as they currently sit second in the Division Intermedia, just one point behind leaders 12 de Junio de Villa Hayes ahead of the weekend. 

The club was only formed in 2008 and by 2012 had fought its way up to the Primera Division, while they also qualified for the Copa Sudamericana in their first season at that level. After a rapid rise, they have slightly slowed, and were relegated back to the second tier in 2019 based upon their three-year average. 

Last term they finished sixth in the table, but they’ve impressed so far in 2025, winning six, drawing three and losing three of their league matches to date. That’s stuck them just one point off the top of the table, and they are looking tough to beat so far, having only conceded a ridiculous eight goals in those 12 fixtures.

This is where I’m leaning into the statistics, as this solid defence looks to be the foundation of a positive campaign. They host Club Sol de America on Saturday (19:00) and they should be able to keep them out. The second-best defence the league has to offer comes against a tepid attack that has only managed to find the net eight times in 12 league matches, with only one team scoring fewer goals than that so far.

They’ve failed to score in their last three outings, gaining two 0-0 draws and being hammered 4-0 by Club River Plate Asuncion and I’m concerned that this lack of goals could land them in serious trouble. As a result, I’m going to back Capiata to win this game to nil, or Deportivo Capiata to beat Club Sol de America and BTTS No - as it is listed on Betfred. 

The price of 9/4 is decent given what we have seen from both teams so far, and there really shouldn’t be many goals in this game. Capiata have built on their strong defence, and Club Sol de America can’t score, so let’s back a comfortable home success.
