Football Bet of the Day: Inter to exact quick revenge

Inter Milan entertain Fiorentina in Serie A on Monday evening as the home side look to rebound from a resounding loss against La Viola last week (20:00).

Serie A action on Monday evening comes from San Siro as reigning champions Inter Milan get an immediate opportunity to exact some revenge on visiting Fiorentina.

These sides met on Thursday evening in Florence, playing the final 73 minutes of a game that had been abandoned in December due to a medical emergency.

La Viola scored three unanswered goals in the second half, meaning Simone Inzaghi's side are sure to be fired up in their attempt to get some measure of revenge in a quick rematch in Milan.

Fiorentina caught fire on the counter-attack in the second half at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, Luca Ranieri putting them ahead just before the hour and Moise Kean notching a brace to seal an emphatic victory, on the scoreboard at least.

Inter dominated possession, with 72 per cent of the ball, but the hosts still managed six shots on target.

It will be a similar performance at San Siro in all probability, but Raffaele Palladino's side will have fresh memories of hurting Inter.

They can get on the scoresheet against a home side that has conceded seven times in their last five Serie A games and has managed just one clean sheet in the last five at home.

Fiorentina are solid enough travellers, failing to score in just two of their 11 away league games this season.

Inter are, though, Serie A's leading scorers with 56 in 23 games this season, that despite last season's leading marksman Lautaro Martinez contributing only nine so far in 21 appearances.

Team-mate Marcus Thuram has stepped up, with 13 in the league so far, though he has gone five games without a goal in all competitions.

The Nerazzurri will know this game is close to falling into 'must-win' territory as they aim to keep tabs on leaders Napoli.

Inter have scored two or more goals in 13 of their 23 league games this season, but surprisingly it is just two clean sheets in their last nine home assignments and they came against strugglers Como and Venezia.

No Serie A side this season has played more games featuring over 3.5 goals than Inter.

This Monday night dust down with Fiorentina should be high on entertainment with goals at both ends but, ultimately, Inter can get the win they crave and dish out some quick revenge on their visitors.
