We've got a gargantuan game of football coming our way on Saturday night (20:00), as Ipswich Town travel to Hull City looking to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.

The Tractor Boys could find themselves four points behind Leeds United by the time they kick-off on Saturday night, while they are now five points behind probable champions Leicester, who play on Monday. Below you can find my Football Bet of the Day for Saturday April 27, as the Tractor Boys enter the crucial final three matches.

Football Bet of the Day - Saturday April 27

  • Ipswich to beat Hull and BTTS @ 13/5

Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town haven’t won any of their last three games, with that difficult derby day defeat to Norwich knocking them slightly off course. However, unlike any other team in the Championship, they’ve had a full two weeks off due to Coventry’s FA Cup semi-final at the weekend - and they play that game in hand against the Sky Blues on Tuesday night.

There’s a scenario in which a win in midweek could see them promoted, but things will have to go their way this weekend first of all. The break will no doubt have done Ipswich the world of good, as it felt like they were feeling the pressure of this promotion race home and away.

Now they travel to Hull City on Saturday night, in need of three points to keep the pressure up on the top two. Now the Tigers still have an outside chance of the play-offs after their 3-2 win over Coventry on Wednesday night, and they are just three points outside the top six, with two to play.

Hull are unbeaten in their last five, but the win over a knackered Coventry side in midweek was unconvincing. I also think we have to factor in the fact that they have played twice since Ipswich last took to the field. It’s now or never for Ipswich and their destiny still remains in their own hands. Win their final three and they are in the Premier League. Simple as that.

With their attacking quality, they should be able to find the net at the MKM Stadium on multiple occasions. I really believe we will see a revitalised Ipswich Town this weekend, and McKenna’s men will come out with all three points. I also think backing BTTS makes sense given what we have seen from Hull in recent weeks.

Their attack is talented, with the likes of Fabio Carvalho and Jadon Philogene two of the finest wingers in the division. Liam Delap is also back in action and both teams have scored in four of their last six matches. Meanwhile, Ipswich have seen both teams score in 60% of the games this season and have found the net 85 times this season.

We should see an end-to-end encounter with plenty of goals. Ipswich haven’t been at their free-flowing best in the last three weeks, but I think this break will have allowed them to press the reset button. Kieffer Moore, Nathan Broadhead, Conor Chaplin and Omari Hutchinson are still a seriously dangerous front four.

I’m backing the Tractor Boys to take the three points, to keep their promotion tilt on track.
