Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United are involved in a three-way battle for a place in Europe next season and the Red Devils head to Selhurst Park hoping to boost their chances of a spot in Continental competition.

Palace have hit a rich vein of form, taking 10 points from their last four top-flight matches and the future looks bright under manager Oliver Glasner. The Eagles lost 3-0 at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup earlier in the campaign, but Palace turned the tide in the Premier League, winning 1-0, and all is set for a cracking night of action.

Football Bet of the Day: Monday, May 6

  • Crystal Palace to score over 2.5 goals @ 11/4

Chelsea’s 5-0 victory over West Ham on Sunday has put pressure on Man Utd’s hopes of a European place next season and they could struggle to respond at Selhurst Park.

It’s been a poor campaign for the Red Devils, and while there are still hopes of glory in the FA Cup and European qualification from that competition, things are getting a little messy for Erik ten Hag’s men.

It has been a campaign littered with inconsistency and a lack of quality, and this is a team that has won only one of their last eight matches (inside 90 minutes).

The Red Devils have lost seven of their 17 away league games this season, no side in the Premier League’s top-12 positions have scored fewer goals on the road and a trip to Palace looks another tricky test for Ten Hag’s side.

The Eagles have hit form, just as United make the trip to Selhurst Park, and the south Londoners have taken 10 points from their last four top-flight matches.

Glasner’s men have beaten Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle, and taken a point from a trip to Fulham, in their last four games and the progressive team have scored 11 goals in their last five matches.

There is a sense of positivity around Selhurst Park at the moment and this is a team that has had 41 shots on goal in their last three matches.

Clearly, United are a side that carry a far bigger reputation, but Palace deserve to be favourites in this contest.

United have conceded 17 goals in their last eight games, shipped three against Championship side Coventry in the FA Cup semi-finals and they again go into battle without defenders Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane.

Palace are 11/4 to score three or more goals on Monday night and that looks a juicy price.

Over 2.5 Crytal Palace goals at 11/4 Betfred are running their famed Double Delight & Hat-trick Heaven offer on this match, meaning that if a player scores first and then nets again, you will be paid at double the odds. If he grabs a hat-trick, you will be paid at treble the odds!
