Rangers to beat Hibs
We open our away win treble with a bet on Rangers to beat Hibs at Easter Road. Philippe Clement’s side recorded their first win over Celtic when thrashing the league leaders 3-0 at Ibrox on Thursday.
A classy Gers brushed aside a rival with a previously unbeaten record that had conceded just four goals in 18 league starts. The visitors carry their fair share of injury problems, but if they are anywhere near their best, we’ll see an important away win.
Hibs set up for game 22 of their campaign, pushing hard for a place in the top six of the Premiership. The hosts started the season slowly and were stuck at the bottom of the league before an upturn in results moved them to seventh.
The home side are unbeaten in five, winning four and drawing the spare, but they needed a late goal to rescue a point against bottom-of-the-league St Johnstone, who were reduced to ten men before the break. Back Rangers to escape with a narrow victory.
Dundee to beat St Johnstone
Moving to a freezing Perth, and we’re backing Dundee to leave McDiarmid Park with all three points, piling pressure on St Johnstone. The home team have lost four and drawn two of their previous six league starts. They have 15 points on the board, five fewer than their nearest rivals, Hearts, who are improving fast.
The Saints are in big trouble, and I expect them to fall further behind following this match.
Dundee arrive three places higher in the league than their hosts, but have lost four of their last six, winning the two spares.
Victory over the bottom club would do wonders for their chances of staying in the league, even at this early stage, and would allow Dundee to target the teams above them. Dundee beat St Mirren 2-1 in their last away game and are worth adding to our weekend treble.
Hearts beat Dundee Utd
We’re taking a bit of a risk here by siding with a team that’s second from the bottom of the league against an opponent sitting in third. Hearts are involved in a relegation battle, but the Jambos are headed in the right direction. They’ve won half of their last six and scored a hard-fought 1-0 win over Motherwell on Thursday.
Unbeaten in their previous two starts, another win for Hearts could turn their season around. They’re worth a bet at great odds.
Dundee United are holding their own in the Premiership and recently passed Aberdeen into third place, that’s the same Dons that were joint-top of the league with a 100% record not too long ago.
The hosts have won each of their last three league starts but have a poor recent record against Sunday’s opponents. We’ll need a rub of the green here, but Hearts have the quality to upset the odds.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
