Football Accumulator Tips: Cross-European Sunday 3/1 Treble

Jamie Pacheco didn't come good last week but there are still plenty of profits to play with and he intends to build on those.
A card-filled encounter at Como, a goal-filled Benfica win and three or more as Marseille host Brest would do him just fine this week as he takes us through his reasoning being this treble and his Football Accumulator Tips for this weekend...
Football Accumulator Tips - Cross-European Treble
- Como v Genoa - Back over 37.5 Bookings points @ 1/2
- Benfica v AVS - Benfica to win and Over 3.5 Goals in @ 5/6
- Marseille v Brest - Back over 2.5 goals @ 8/15
- Treble Odds @ 3.21/1
*Odds correct as of the time of publication
Welcome to the 3-3-3 betting column. Why is it called that? Glad you asked. It’s not a formation to play when you’ve had a man sent off but rather:
3 - The number of different selections making up the acca.
3 - The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.
3 - The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.
And it really is as simple as that. The selections can be from any betting markets, as long as they meet the criteria set out above. And to round things off, every week I’ll leave you with a cool (or at least I think so) bit of trivia involving one of the teams featured in the acca. Simples...
Current P and L: +12.254 pts
Not a great effort last time out with just one of the three winning as Braga got their goal (two in fact) at Estoril but Bologna and Inter failed to produce three goals between them and Barca fell a couple of corners short of the ones we needed them to get against Celta.
Celta, by the way, have been jotted down as a side who really don’t have many corners in their matches so if anything good came of last week’s effort, it was the realisation that they’re one to keep an eye on in that regard.
Como v Genoa
Sunday April 27 11:30
Selection: Back over 37.5 Points @ 1/2
Hands up if you had Como v Genoa as a match pencilled in for the weekend under the ‘unmissable’ category as one to sit back and enjoy as a footballing spectacle. Me neither.
But to ignore it altogether, remembering that watching it isn’t going to help the chances of it producing a winning bet for you, may be a case of missing out on a good winner involving cards.
Como, you see, are no angels. 81% of their home matches have produced at least four yellows (or two yellows and a red) and those same 16 home matches have seen seven red cards being brandished in them.
All of their last 10 home matches have had at least 40 bookings points in them, as have seven of their last eight on the road. Remarkable numbers helped by the fact that the likes of Edoardo Goldaniga has picked up nine yellows and a red so far, while two further players have seen yellow on five occasions and a handful of players have been shown four yellows. So indiscipline throughout the whole team.
Como host Genoa this weekend, who have a respectable 63% strike rate for away matches having at least 37.5 points in them, including all of their last three. So we really should get four bookings here.
Benfica v AVS
Sunday April 27 19:00
Selection: Benfica to win and Over 3.5 Goals in @ 5/6
Benfica have generally been a good team for us with their matches making up the 3-3-3 column and those in the Champions League producing good results for us.
This week they host AVS and come into this match in good scoring form. In their last six league matches they’ve scored 3, 3, 4 (against Porto no less), 3, 2 and 3 goals. So scoring certainly hasn’t been an issue, or winning matches for that matter. Because they got three points in five of them, with an unexpected 2-2 draw with Arouca the odd one out.
Given they’re scoring plenty of goals and conceded in four of them, it’s not hard to make a case for them winning this match with over 3.5 goals in it. AVS were guilty of letting in four at Braga a couple of weeks ago and three at home to Estoril so you can see the potential for a collapse, whereas the fact they always seem to have a goal in them themselves actually helps our cause here.
Marseille v Brest
Sunday April 27 19:45
Selection: Back Over 2.5 Goals @ 8/15
It’s a minor miracle that Marseille are second in a competitive league if their goals-against record is anything to go by. They’ve conceded 42 so far which is more than anyone else in the Top Eight. Curiously, the team in ninth place who has conceded more than them is Brest, none other than their opponents this weekend, who have let in ‘just’ 49; so you can already see the potential for both sides leaking goals here.
Brest’s record for high-scoring games away from home is good at 60% and happens to be the same 60% that Marseille have for their home matches this season.
A good omen is that Marseille have conceded three goals in each of their four away trips so there’s clearly plenty wrong with that defence right now. The match isn’t away from home for Marseille sadly (we can’t have it all our own way) but they have conceded in each of their last two home games, as well. 7 of the last 9 between these two teams had over 2.5 goals, too.
As I often like to say, I wouldn’t want to predict the correct score because it could be anything. But we should really get at least three goals here.
James’ Fun Fact
Part of Marseille’s success, going forward at least, has been down to an excellent season from controversial Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, who is currently on loan at Marseille and is by far their top scorer with 18 goals in 30 appearances.
