No joy for James Pacheco last week but the profits for the season are still healthy and there may well be more of them to come.

This week’s selections includes a match from the last game of the season in Ligue 1 to go with further selections from Portugal and Italy as we head into the penultimate 3-3-3 column for the campaign. Check out Jamie's Football Accumulator Tips for this Saturday right here at Betfred Insights...

Welcome to the 3-3-3 betting column. Why is it called that? Glad you asked.  It's not a formation to play when you've had a man sent off but rather:

3- The number of different selections making up the acca.

3- The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.

3- The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.

And it really is as simple as that. The selections can be from any betting markets, as long as they meet the criteria set out above.  And to round things off, every week I'll leave you with a cool (or at least I think so) bit of trivia involving one of the teams featured in the acca. Simples...

Current P and L: +9.254 pts

Just the one correct selection last week with Estoril doing the business for us by getting a well-deserved draw, but Empoli scored a late and crucial winner for them to get the better of Parma while we were a Real Sociedad corner short of our target for them.

So a few weeks of no success if you're the half-glass empty sort of person but however much water you think is in the glass or not, here's what's guaranteed: we have two more weeks of the 3-3-3 column before the end of the season and the worst case scenario is that we'll end the season with a profit of 8.25 point, which isn't a bad effort at all.

But that also means two last opportunities to get back into double figures in profit, which was my target at the start of the season. If we manage it this week, so much the better.

Estoril Praia v Estrela Amadora

Saturday May 18:00

Selection: Back Estoril or Draw on the Double Chance market @ 4/9

As we just said, Estoril did the business fort us last week at Moreirense and I see no reason why we should abandon the strategy of going with them on the Double Chance market again, especially when they're at home, against a side five places behind Moreirense, and at a quite similar price.

True, Estoril don't have too much to play for and Estrela really could do with a point here to make sure they avoid the possibility of Farense or AVS winning their matches and things getting a bit tight regarding the 16th spot, which leads to a relegation play-off.

But none of that is Estoril's problem. Manager Ian Cathro has never been particularly popular and he could can do with all the credit he gets so he'll be taking this one seriously. Of course, it's not all likely to be plain sailing because they've lost their last three home matches. But then again they were against Benfica, Porto and Braga, all in the Top 4.

There is after all a 14 point-difference between these two so it really shouldn't take too much of an effort for Estoril to at least avoid defeat.

Genoa v Atalanta

Saturday May 17 19:45

Selection: Under 10.5 corners @ 4/9

One thing we've done here over the course of the season here in the 3-3-3 column is question why sone teams have matches that produce so many corners and others have games where there are very few.

I would have had to watch plenty of Genoa games to come to a sound conclusion as to why their games have so few corners, which quite honestly I haven't done, but the stats really do paint a pretty clear picture.

83% of their home matches have produced less than 10.5 corners so far this season, including all of their last 14, while remarkably the number is even higher for their away matches, at 89%.

Given Genoa have a 66.7% strike rate for under 10.5 corners in away matches for the season and this looks like a match made in heaven for fans who (bizarrely) just hate seeing corners being taken. The 4/9 on 10 corners or less in the game will do us just fine.

Lille v Reims

Saturday May 17 20:00

Selection: Back Both teams to Score @ Evens

Ever eager to get their summer holidays under way as quickly as possible, this is the final round of matches in Ligue 1 for the season and  it looks a good one for a BTTS bet.

For starters, there's that theory that the last match of the season always tends to produce more goals than usual because teams are a bit more carefree but in this case, both have plenty to play for.

A win for Lille could be the difference between fourth and sixth spot for them, while Reims could find themselves in a pickle in the form of a relegation play-off if they lose this one and other results go against them. So they're certainly playing for something here, too.

But we're more interested in the long-term stats than the ins and outs of who needs to do what on the day.

Lille have a highly impressive 75% strike rate for BTTS matches at home this season which includes goals at both ends in 10 of their last 12. So that's a pretty good starting point.

Reims have a far lower strike rate for BTTS matches away from home (38%) but we're pretty happy with their recent run of away matches producing the following scores over the last four weeks: 2-1, 1-3, 1-2 and 2-2 so there's been a shift there that plays straight into our hands.

Given the last four games between these two ended 1-2, 1-1, 2-1, 2-1 and 1-1 when played in Lille and the stats are certainly in our favour at a pretty decent price.

 James' Fun Fact

Talk about carrying a team. Lille's Canadian striker Jonathan David has scored 27 goals for them this season in all competitions, while no-one else has got past the 10-goal mark.
