We've already seen a big winner in our Football Accumulator Tips column this week, with my colleague Conor Keane nailing a 30/1 four-fold on Monday.

I present to you a much more modest 7/1 shot for Thursday's games, featuring two games from the Netherlands, one from Sweden, and another from Germany...

AZ Alkmaar (H) to beat Heerenveen (17:45) @ 2/5

First up in Thursday's football acca is an Eredivisie Uefa Conference League play-off between AZ Alkmaar and Heerenveen at the former's AFAS Stadion.

AZ finished the regular season in fifth, 14 points ahead of Heerenveen (ninth), who secured the final play-off position.

Heerenveen won the last head-to-head 3-1 in March, but that was on home soil, and in the reverse fixture in Alkmaar last September, they were humbled 9-1.

Troy Parrott was the star of the show at the AFAS Stadion, netting four times, but he's missed their last five games through injury, and will sit out Thursday's tie.

Jordy Clasie is another important player out injured, increasing Heerenveen's chances of advancing to the play-off final, but they are missing a couple of their own stars, notably Alireza Jahanbakhsh and goalkeeper Andries Noppert.

Heerenveen have a dire away record this calendar year, winning just once, on January 12, and they ended the campaign with five straight defeats on their travels. They haven't won in Alkmaar since October 2018, and I predict more pain for De Superfriezen on Thursday.

Football Odds

Malmo FF (H) to beat AIK (18:00) @ 8/11

Over in Sweden, Malmo host AIK Stockholm in the Allsvenskan. The sides are separated by four points after 10 rounds of fixtures, with AIK in third and Malmo in fifth.

They've met already this season, playing out a goalless draw at the Strawberry Arena in Solna last month, but at the Eleda Stadion, Malmo have won the last three head-to-heads, thrashing AIK 5-0 in April 2024.

AIK began the season superbly on the road, winning their first three away games, but they've stumbled slightly this month, drawing 1-1 at Djurgraden and 3-3 at Hacken.

Malmo, meanwhile, have won three of their last five matches, including two of their last three.

Di blae have won the last two league titles, finishing 11 points ahead of AIK last season, and they'll fancy their chances of ending their unbeaten start to the season on Thursday.

1. FC Heidenheim (H) to beat SV Elversberg (19:30) @ 6/5

Heidenheim have endured a fall from grace, dropping from eighth in their maiden Bundesliga campaign in 2023/24, which brought Uefa Conference League football to the Voith-Arena this season, to 16th, which has seen them dragged into a relegation play-off with the 2. Bundesliga's third-placed team, Elversberg, who ended the campaign eight games unbeaten (W6, D2).

However, while it's been a poor season for Heidenheim, Frank Schmidt's side have restored some confidence in the past month, beating VfB Stuttgart (0-1) and Union Berlin (0-3) away either side of a goalless draw at home to VfL Bochum, before going down 4-1 to Werder Bremen on the final day last weekend.

With a second leg to come at Elversberg's Waldstadion Kaiserlinde next week, Heidenheim will be desperate to gain the advantage in Thursday's first leg at the Voith-Arena, so they should be going all out for the win.

At just over EVS, I think they're worth taking on here, even if the visitors will head to Heidenheim in a confident mood.

FC Twente (H) to beat NEC (20:00) @ 3/5

Back in the Netherlands, the second Conference League play-off tie takes place at De Grolsch Veste, where FC Twente host NEC Nijmegen.

Twente finished the regular season in sixth, 11 points ahead of NEC, whom they beat at home (2-0) and away (1-2).

NEC did conclude their campaign with three straight wins, which included a 3-0 victory at Ajax, while Twente lost their last two, but I think Joseph Oosting's side are much superior, with 24-goal Sem Steijn scooping the Golden Boot, netting eight more times than his nearest rival, Feyenoord's Igor Paixao.

Steijn should help his side get over the line on Thursday, setting up a play-off final with either AZ or Heerenveen.
