Hola querido lector y bienvenido al mejor artículo de consejos de acumulador de fútbol que leerás este fin de semana. As you can tell, I’ve been bitten by the international football bug during the break, but it isn’t the only football action we have to look forward to on Saturday.

There’s plenty of League 1 and League 2 action for us to cover, while of course we have an array of World Cup qualifiers as well. It seems all the value comes from these shores however - and below, you can find my Football Accumulator Tips for Saturday, September 6.

Huddersfield Town (H) to beat Peterborough United (15:00, Sky Sports+)

Huddersfield were one of the favourites to get promoted from League 1 this season after a summer spending spree saw them bring the likes of Alfie May to the club. With rookie boss Lee Grant in charge, there were a few lingering question marks however, but he’s started pretty well.

Four wins and two defeats in the league have got Town up the table, although they did lose a Yorkshire derby to Barnsley at Oakwell last time out in the league. They’ve got enough quality that they should make light work of a Peterborough outfit that look to be in serious trouble, with just one point from six matches leaving them bottom of the table. Home win.

Stockport County (A) to beat Plymouth Argyle (15:00, Sky Sports+)

Talking of teams in real trouble, Plymouth Argyle have had an appalling start to life back in League 1. Tom Cleverley seems unable to get them going right now and they’ve won just once in the league, losing their other five fixtures. It leaves them stranded in the relegation zone before the weekend, and life doesn’t get any easier as they welcome one of the promotion favourites.

Stockport County have been on an incredible rise under Dave Challinor, and there is little doubt that they will be contending for the automatic promotion places this season. They’ve lost one of their opening five matches, winning three, but the gap between these two teams should be quite apparent once they get out on the Home Park pitch.

Today's Football Fixtures

Barnet (H) to beat Shrewsbury Town (15:00, Sky Sports+)

Dropping down to League 2 now and the team that got promoted from the National League last term have finally got to grips with the level. After losing their opening three matches, Barnet have responded with two wins and a draw, and they can now look up the table as they hope to continue their positive trajectory.

The champions of the National League tend to do pretty well in League 2, and I’d expect nothing different here. At home against a Shrewsbury outfit that have only managed two points in their opening six matches following relegation from League 1, and I think all signs point to a convincing home win.

MK Dons (H) to beat Grimsby Town (15:00, Sky Sports+)

A slightly trickier one to call here, but I am going to back the fancied MK Dons to get a home win over the headline-grabbing Grimsby Town this weekend. MK Dons have Paul Warne in charge and were able to attract a high calibre of player to the club over the summer, but a slow start was perhaps to be expected given the overhaul in the playing squad.

They’ve actually started better than I thought they would, with three wins, two draws and one defeat from their opening six - while Grimsby have an identical record, and they both lost last time out. The Mariners are set-piece masters and hard to beat under David Artell, but I just feel MK Dons will have too much individual quality for them on this big pitch.

Accrington Stanley (A) to beat Cheltenham Town (15:00, Sky Sports+)

Down to the bottom of the table now and Accrington Stanley look to be in for another relegation battle as they are yet to win in the league. They will hope to end that run as they travel to bottom club Cheltenham Town, a team that have picked up just one point so far, scoring two goals in six outings.

They’ve been truly dreadful, conceding 12 goals along the way, while Accrington have at least been competitive with three draws and two narrow defeats to date. This is the perfect chance for Accy to get off the mark, and it would round off our acca nicely if they get the job done on Saturday.
