Football Accumulator Tips: 9/2 Friday Treble

Friday’s football action takes us around the world, and unlike Phileas Fogg, hopefully this won’t take us 80 days. Side note - Around the World in 80 Days featuring Steve Coogan and Jackie Chan (2004) only has an IMDB rating of 5.9 which is a global disgrace and we should all be ashamed.
Anyway, we’ve scoured the globe for some action this Friday, and below you can find my Football Accumulator Tips. Up, up and away…
Football Accumulator Tips - Friday, July 25
- Club Nacional (H) to beat Club General Caballero
- Club 2 de Mayo vs Club Sportivo Luqueno - under 2.5 goals
- Union Saint Gilloise (A) to beat Royal Antwerp

Club Nacional to beat Club General Caballero (H)
As Coldplay once sang ‘This could be Para, Para, Paraguay’. Once again I’m turning my attention away from Chris Martin and the big screen, and towards the Primera Division, but unlike a Coldplay gig - there will be no cheating on my watch.
Anyway, my love affair with this division continues to flourish and we’ve got a couple of top fixtures to get stuck into on Friday. Club Nacional host Club General Caballero having picked up seven points from their three Clausura fixtures so far, and they are looking in decent nick to challenge in the top-half of the table, having only finished eighth in the Apertura in the first half of 2025.
They aren’t my favourite Paraguayan outfit in terms of betting, but they are hosting a side I’m always happy to back to lose. Club General Caballero looked poor last term, finishing ninth, and they’ve got worse since the summer break - losing three from three so far and scoring just one goal in the process. I think they are in danger of crashing and burning this term, and they could be caught out again - just like the CEO of Astronomer was…
Club 2 de Mayo vs Club Sportivo Luqueno - under 2.5 goals
Club 2 de Mayo will be hoping to improve on their 11th-place finish in the Apertura and they’ve made decent progress so far, picking up four points from their three Clausura fixtures. I wouldn’t expect massive uplift from them by the time the season gets going however, as their only win so far came last time out against bottom club General Caballero.
Meanwhile, Club Sportivo Luqueno are going nicely having picked up five points from three, but it is their defensive record that interests me the most. They’ve kept four clean sheets in a row and look really hard to break down right now, while I don’t think 2 de Mayo have the attacking nous to create loads of chances. This should be a quiet affair.

Union Saint Gilloise to beat Royal Antwerp (A)
The Belgian Pro League kicks off on Friday night and the reigning champions are in action as Union Saint Gilloise travel to Royal Antwerp. Having finished three points clear of Club Brugge at the end of the 2024/25 Championship Round, USG narrowly lost to them in the Belgian Super Cup on Sunday.
However, now that the real action is back, I’m expecting them to return to winning ways against Antwerp. USG will feature in the Champions League group phase this season, while Antwerp had to settle for a fifth-place finish and no European football in 2025/26. On matchday nine of 10 in the Championship Round, Union Saint Gilloise hammered Royal Antwerp 4-0 away from home and although there is always a bit of trepidation at the start of a new campaign, I’m happy to side with the champions again.
