Turkey vs Paraguay Bet Builder Tips: 9/1 four-fold for crucial Group D match-up

We head to San Francisco on Saturday morning as Turkey take on Paraguay in Group D (4am BST, Friday 8pm local, live on ITV).

Turkey to win

To kick things off for this Bet Builder, I'm backing Turkey to win.

After their surprise opening defeat to Australia, Turkey will want to put that disastrous result behind them, especially against a side ranked considerably lower than them in the FIFA world rankings. In addition, Paraguay didn't really offer anything in their defeat to the USA, although they did manage to get on the scoresheet.

Admittedly, the Crescent Stars did look a bit toothless going forward at times against the Socceroos, but they did create plenty of chances, but their finishing let them down - and they're certainly capable of better.

So, let's back a Turkey win here as they have more quality throughout every area of the pitch, and should get the job done.

Both teams to score - yes

A defeat for either side would see them on the brink of elimination, so I'm predicting that both things will go for it here, which should see goals at both ends of the pitch.

As mentioned above, Turkey did manage to create plenty of chances against Australia, and despite being dominated by the USA, Paraguay still managed to get on the scoresheet.

Turkey have scored eight in their last nine games, while their South American opponents have scored in 15 of their last 17 outings, so backing both teams to score certainly appeals.

Hakan Calhanoglu to have 2+ shots (Sub Switch)

Turkey's talisman Hakan Calhanoglu fired in no fewer than five efforts against Australia, and was also trigger-happy during World Cup qualifying, averaging 2.58 shots per game.

Calhanoglu is also expected to be on penalty duties and is a specialist in long-range free kicks, which boost the chances of this pick landing. In addition, the 33-year-old averaged 2.73 shots per game for Inter Milan in Serie A this term, and Paraguay conceded 16 shots against USA in their opening game.
