Netherlands vs Lithuania Prediction: Gakpo to inspire the Dutch rout

Netherlands have all but booked their place at the 2026 World Cup, and they sign off with an Amsterdam tie against a poor Lithuanian side who have taken only three points from their seven Group G contests on Monday (19:45).

Team News
Netherlands defender Jan Paul van Hecke picked up a booking against Poland on Friday night and is suspended for the visit of Lithuania.
Manager Koeman may look to make changes to his side for the final qualifier of the campaign with Xavi Simons, Matthijs de Ligt and Tijjani Reijnders among those in line for starts.
Edvinas Girdvainis was left out of the Lithuanian squad and will not make the trip to Amsterdam.
Modestas Vorobjovas could be handed a role in midfield at the expense of Gratas Sirgedas.
Netherlands vs Lithuania Predicted Lineups
- Netherlands: Verbruggen; Timber, De Ligt, Van Dijk, Van de Ven; Gravenberch, De Jong; Simons, Reijnders, Gakpo; Depay
- Lithuania: Svedkauskas; Tutyskinas, Armalas, Utkus; Sirvys, Gineitis, Vorobjovas, Golubickas, Lasickas; Cernych, Paulauskas
Netherlands are red-hot 1/33 favourites, with Lithuania a huge 50/1 to win and the draw is a 33/1 shot.
The total goals line has been bumped up to 4.5 and over is an 11/8 chance with both teams to score rated 9/4.
Bet Builder - Netherlands to win & over 3.5 goals @ 8/13
Netherlands are on the plane to America for all intents and purposes and they should sign off their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in style against Lithuania.
Oranje have scored 23 goals in their seven qualifiers, and while Koeman’s side had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Poland on Friday, the Dutch have cut loose against the weaker teams in the section.
Netherlands beat Malta 8-0 in Amsterdam and 4-0 in the reverse fixture and Finland were also crushed 4-0 in the Dutch capital.
The Dutch hit 66 efforts on goal in those three matches and there are few better teams in Europe at dominating inferior opponents.
Lithuania did offer something in a 3-2 Kaunas loss to Netherlands in September, but a trip to Amsterdam looks an altogether more difficult task, and it could be a heavy defeat for the Tricolours.
Either way, a bet on Netherlands to win and over 3.5 covers both angles and that rates the strongest play on Monday’s contest.
Cody Gakpo to score first @ 3/1
Koeman could switch up his side on Monday night, but Cody Gakpo should be handed a starting role on the left of Netherlands attack and the Liverpool forward rates a bet to open the scoring.
The 26-year-old has scored six goals in his last eight appearances for club and county and the Dutchman is a potent threat when cutting in from the left on his right foot.
Backing Gakpo to score two or more goals is an option, but the Liverpool man may well be substituted, should Netherlands be in a commanding position, and the first scorer market looks the place to play.
