Jamaica vs Bermuda Prediction: Reggae Boyz set for big win

In a battle of beautiful island nations I would love to visit on holiday, Jamaica host Bermuda (01:00 BST) in what is set to be a vital clash in a genuinely thrilling qualification group. Having lost three points and top spot to group leaders Curacao, the pressure is now on for Steve McClaren - with only first place in this group guaranteed to make it to the World Cup.

Below you can find my Jamaica vs Bermuda predictions featuring team news and betting tips.

Jamaica vs Bermuda Betting Tips

  • Jamaica to win with -2 handicap @ 4/6
  • Over 1.5 first half goals @ 10/11

Team News

Isaac Hayden and Kasey Palmer, two names familiar to fans of the Championship, both missed the loss to Curacao through suspension, but could both feature from the start here. Ian Fray made his debut but could drop out as a result, along with Jon Russell, as the XI McClaren selected failed to impress.

After the late injury to Demarai Gray in training, Dujua Richards made his first international appearance in two years, and could start here. Coventry City defender Joel Latibeaudiere hasn’t played for his club this season and missed the Curacao game, but is reportedly fit for selection.

Bermuda will rely on Luton Town striker Nahki Wells to try and provide a threat up top, although the experienced striker is going through somewhat of a goal drought right now. You’ll see plenty of players from England’s non-league system littered throughout this squad, with Reggie Lambe of Needham Market the most capped player in the squad.

Goalkeeper Dale Eve has been busy during this group and has made 28 saves so far, making him the busiest goalkeeper in Concacaf qualifying.

Jamaica vs Bermuda Odds

Jamaica are just 1/20 to win this game, giving them an implied win probability of 95%. Bermuda are 28/1 to secure the victory while a draw can be backed at 10/1 - showing the scale of the task at hand for Bermuda.

Under 1.5 goals is 6/1, BTTS is 2/1 and a Jamaica clean sheet is priced at 4/11. You can find all the odds for this match on the link above.

Jamaica vs Bermuda Stats

  • Jamaica beat Bermuda 4-0 in the reverse fixture
  • Bermuda have lost all three games, conceding 10 goals
  • Bermuda have seen at least two goals at half-time in all three qualifiers

Jamaica to win with -2 handicap @ 4/6

Jamaica have the strongest squad in this group, while Bermuda appear to be the whipping boys after a rough start. They’ve lost three from three so far, conceding 10 goals in the process, and importantly, Jamaica beat them 4-0 in the reverse fixture.

This game is taking place in Kingston so we can expect the home side to have complete dominance, especially given the creativity of Palmer should return to the Reggae Boyz’ midfield. I can’t see anything other than a handsome home win to nil to get their qualification campaign back on track after a worrying defeat.

Today's Football Fixtures

Jamaica V Bermuda - Handicap +2
Jamaica -2

Over 1.5 first half goals @ 10/11

Jamaica will want to get off to a fast start here, and I can see them taking a commanding lead into the break. Bermuda were 2-0 down against Trinidad & Tobago at half-time, went in at 2-2 with Curacao and were 2-0 down against Jamaica at home when the half-time whistle went, so in all three group matches so far this has come in.

Given I expect Jamaica to be even more dominant, I like the look of this price for there to be two goals or more at the break.
