Haiti vs scotland bet builder

After 12 previous attempts over a 70-year period, Scotland’s latest quest to reach the knockout stage of a major tournament begins on Saturday night at the Gillette Stadium when they face Haiti in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup (9pm local, 2am Sunday BST, live on BBC One).

Up against the nation ranked 84th in the world, this should be the Scots’ best hope of a win with Morocco and Brazil to come. I've picked out a 10/1 four-fold for my Haiti vs Scotland Bet Builder tips.

Haiti vs Scotland Odds

Scotland to Win

It has only happened four times in 23 previous World Cup finals fixtures, and on six occasions in 35 major tournament matches. But Scotland should win this game.

They have a squad which boasts a sprinkling of experience at the top level thanks to the likes of Andy Robertson, Scott McTominay and John McGinn.

Even without star midfielder Billy Gilmour, this is a Scotland side with the odd bit of swagger about it. They certainly ought to have too much for Haiti.

And while I’m not convinced enough to tip them to win to nil given the sapping conditions of the expected 30-degree heat in Foxborough, they simply have to record the win here.

Both Teams to Score - Yes

Think the dramatic 4-2 win over Denmark which booked their spot in the finals. Or the 4-1 friendly success against Curacao before flying out. Scotland games are not always straightforward.

Four of their last five wins have come despite a concession, and 13 of their 24 games since June 2024 have featured goals for both sides.

Their three goalkeepers also recorded just four league appearances between them this season, so there could be a rustiness that comes back to bite them if the defensive line is breached.

It’s against that backdrop that I’m expecting them to have to ride through some difficulty on the way to securing the three points.

Scott McTominay Anytime Goalscorer

It’s fair to say that Scott McTominay’s star has risen somewhat in recent years.

A Serie A champion with Napoli last year, he now has a better than one-in-three goals record for the Partenopei at 27 in 80 over the last two seasons.

And he also boasts 15 goals in 70 internationals for Scotland, with none more memorable than that extraordinary overhead kick in the clincher against Denmark at Hampden.

His ability to arrive in the box at just the right time and apply the key touch with either his head or a boot makes him a prime candidate to feature on the scoresheet.

Player 4+ Shots: Scott McTominay (Sub Switch)

One thing McTominay will definitely do is back himself in front of goal.

Only Como’s Nico Paz fired off more attempts than the Napoli number eight in Serie A in 2025/26, with McTominay sending in 101 shots at 3.26 per 90 minutes.

And up against a Haiti side who are likely to back a low block as their best hope of success, the former Manchester United man should get at least four efforts in.

It’s a threshold he met 15 times for Napoli over the course of this season, and, with Betfred’s ‘Sub Switch’ feature, the counter keeps going for McTominay’s replacement in the eventuality that he gets substituted.
