Three of Ghana’s last four games have seen both sides score. Even against the imposing challenge of Germany, international butterfly Carlos Queiroz’s men hit the net in a 2-1 defeat.. 

Panama have seen BTTS land in each of their last five outings. Ghana are a little leaky at the back and I expect the minnows to nick a goal in this one.

While I’m backing at least one Panama goal, I fancy the Black Stars to triumph overall. They have struggled for form recently. The Germany game was no shame, but getting Tonka-trucked by Austria 5-1 was fairly embarrassing.

But Panama are there for the taking. I don’t expect Ghana to do it as comprehensively as Brazil managed. The Selecao MC-Hammered Los Canaleros 6-2 in a recent friendly. But Ghana have the quality and experience to take the lead early and largely keep it for the duration.

Jordan Ayew anytime goalscorer

At 34 years of age, this could be the last World Cup hurrah for Ghana’s joint-top all-time appearance maker. Jordan and his brother Andre share that particular honour, having been capped 120 times each.

The Ayew in question for this tip is also Ghana’s fourth-top all-time goalscorer. Smarting from the relegation of his club, Leicester City, I feel Jordan Ayew could strut his stuff on the world stage as a sort of goalscoring coping mechanism. Watch out, Panama. Thanks for Roberto Duran, though.
