Bermuda vs Curacao Prediction: Can Curacao take one more step towards the World Cup?

Bermuda have been eliminated from World Cup qualifying but they will still have a say in who makes it to North America as they host Curacao (00:00 GMT Friday). Curacao are one of the surprise packages of this year’s qualifying campaign and remain just one point behind Jamaica with two to play.

Team News
Bermuda will have to do without Nahki Wells, as the Luton Town striker has dropped out of the national team to focus on club football for the time being. Danavon Thompson should start in place of the former Bristol City man, while Logan Jimenez has got his first senior call-up.
Loughborough Students' defender Harry Twite could feature, with several other English non-league footballers littered throughout the squad.
Tahith Chong returns for Curacao as they look to get over the line and he is likely to join Leandro Bacuna and Juninho Bacuna in a midfield three. Up top, Middlesbrough’s Sontje Hansen should get his second cap, former Coventry City winger Gervane Kasteneer is in contention to start along with Borussia Dortmund II youngster Jordi Paulina.
Bermuda vs Curacao Predicted Lineups
- Bermuda - Eve; Dublin, Leverock, Twite, Simmons; Lee, Martin; Donawa, Lambe, Parfitt-Williams; Russell
- Curacao - Room; Sambo, Gaari, Obispo, Floranus; L Bacuna, Chong, J Bacuna; Antonisse, Kastaneer, Gorre
Bermuda are priced at 9/1 to win this game while Curacao are the 1/4 favourites giving them an implied win probability of 80%. A draw is 9/2, over 2.5 goals is 4/9, BTTS is 5/6 and a 0-0 draw is priced at 18/1.
Bermuda vs Curacao Stats
- Bermuda have lost all four group games
- Bermuda have conceded 14 goals, scoring just twice
- Curacao are one point behind Jamaica and unbeaten
Curacao to win with -1 handicap @ 7/10
Bermuda have been pretty dreadful this term and are clearly the worst team in this group. They’ve lost four out of four, scored just twice and conceded 14 in those matches, showing just how far behind the other outfits they are.
Having said that, they only lost 3-2 to Curacao in the reverse fixture, but having lost 4-0 to Jamaica home and away, they are looking at another heavy loss on home soil. Curacao will be boosted by Chong’s return and with the pressure on, need to win big. The price on them to find the three points by a two-goal margin is my first selection.

Curacao to win to nil @ 23/20
Similar to above but better odds. The only two goals Bermuda have scored this campaign came against Curacao but I’m expecting a more dominant display from the visitors here. They should be able to keep Bermuda at bay especially when you consider that the hosts are without Wells during this international break. This should be a big away win to nil that piles the pressure onto Jamaica at the top of the group.
