The Club World Cup gets underway in the early hours of Sunday morning as Inter Miami face Al Ahly, and despite the mixture of criticism and apathy, once the football gets underway in the United States of America, we can expect interest to skyrocket.

We will get to see some of the best players in the world attempt to win this summer tournament, and the Golden Boot is a prize that all of the top forwards crave. Below you can find the Club World Cup Top Scorer Odds and a bit of discussion on who could offer the best value.

Club World Cup Top Scorer Odds

  • Kylian Mbappe @ 5/1
  • Erling Haaland @ 5/1
  • Harry Kane @ 13/2
  • Ousmane Dembele @ 11/1
  • Serhou Guirassy @ 12/1
  • Alexander Sorloth @ 16/1
  • Bar @ 18/1

Kylian Mbappe @ 5/1

Kylian Mbappe has perhaps unfairly come in for a high level of criticism this season. Perhaps it’s because Real Madrid failed to win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League while his former club PSG won their first European crown in the first season after he departed.

Still, he’s scored 43 goals in 56 matches this season and has done pretty well for himself, despite the team’s lack of success. Real Madrid should go far in this competition, and Mbappe is likely to be right up there with the top goalscorers, but I think there may be better value to be had elsewhere.

Erling Haaland @ 5/1

Erling Haaland and Mbappe have actually had quite similar campaigns when you think about it. Both of them have top scored for a team that has underperformed, as both Manchester City and Real Madrid failed to win the league and reach the final four of the Champions League.

Haaland has suffered with injuries this term but even so, he has scored 31 goals in 44 games and remains one of the hottest strikers on the planet. This is a new era for Manchester City after a season of struggle, and Pep Guardiola will hope he can fire them to glory. A strong chance.

Harry Kane @ 13/2

Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane finally got the ‘no trophy’ monkey off his back this season as Bayern won the Bundesliga. He also played a big part in their success, scoring 38 goals in 46 appearances and he remains a deadly outlet in front of goal.

Given they are taking on minnows Auckland City first, followed by Boca Juniors and Benfica, the group stage gives him a chance to fill his boots. He could have this wrapped up after the group stage and offers good value.

Ousmane Dembele @ 11/1

Now we are talking. If Ousmane Dembele has a good Club World Cup and if PSG go on to win the competition, he will surely win the Ballon d’Or. He’s already the favourite given his role in PSG’s treble but could wrap it up here.

His stats speak for themselves as he has scored 33 goals in 49 matches, and if PSG get through a tough opener against Atletico Madrid, he could score plenty against Botafogo and Seattle Sounders.

Serhou Guirassy @ 12/1

Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy has scored 34 goals in 45 appearances this term and his odds reflect that. I think he could be another strong selection given the ease of the group Dortmund have been placed in.

They will face Ulsan HD, Fluminense and Mamelodi Sundowns, three teams they should beat in some style. Things will get tougher for them later in the competition, and I don’t think they are contenders to win the whole thing, but if Guirassy can dominate the weak defences in the group - he could walk away with the Golden Boot.

Alexander Sorloth @ 16/1

Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth has scored 24 goals in 50 appearances this season and is a physical forward who could cause havoc. However, Atleti have to face PSG first, and I can’t see Sorloth scoring enough goals in this competition to win this award, even at a healthy price of 16/1.
