PSG vs Botafogo Bet Builder Tips: Alex Telles takes two legs in 12/1 four-fold

Paris Saint-Germain and Botafogo made ideal starts to their 2025 Fifa Club World Cup campaigns last Sunday, beating Atletico Madrid (4-0) and Seattle Sounders (2-1), respectively. The Group B rivals meet each other on Friday (02:00 BST, DZN) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with at least one side set to lose their 100% record.
Below are my PSG vs Botafogo Bet Builder Tips, where I draw up a 12/1 full-back-heavy four-fold.

Player Shown Any Card - Alex Telles (BOT)
Former Manchester United left-back Alex Telles made the move back to Brazil last year, making 11 Serie A appearances (eight starts) for Botafogo, averaging 0.9 fouls per game and picking up a single booking.
The 32-year-old has increased his fouls per game average in this season's competition to 1.2 and has already matched his 2024 yellow card total in 10 matches (six starts). That caution came earlier this month, in a 1-0 win at Santos.
Alex Telles has been a more prolific carder in domestic cup competitions, as he was booked in Botafogo's Supercopa do Brasil defeat to Flamengo on February 2, and in one of his two Copa do Brasil outings this year (v Capital on May 23).
On Friday, the 12-cap Brazil international is likely to be put under immense pressure at the back, with Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola among his potential direct opponents on the wing.
Doue started on the right-hand side of PSG's attack against Atletico and was fouled twice, with the second offence on him, committed by the Rojiblancos' left-back, Reinildo, earning the 31-year-old, who had only been on the pitch two minutes, a yellow card.
The PSG star, who bagged a brace in the Uefa Champions League Final last month, was fouled, on average, 1.4 times per 90 in Europe's premier club cup competition this season, and 2.3 times per game in Ligue 1, so it wasn't much of a surprise to see him upended a couple of times last Sunday and get an opponent into the referee's notebook.
Alex Telles may well have to take alternative action to stop the 20-year-old in Pasadena, so the Fogo full-back looks a solid candidate to be carded.
Alex Telles (BOT) Total Shots - 1+
Sticking with the Brazilian, I'm backing him to record at least one shot on Friday.
He shot twice in his side's Group B opener, forcing a save with his left foot in the 14th minute and missing the target with a right-footed effort in the 67th minute.
It was the sixth consecutive match that he had shot at least once, and the third on the trot that he had recorded 2+ attempts.
I'm not backing Alex Telles for multiple shots on Friday against the European champions, but I still think one is achievable for a player who is averaging 1.1 per game in Serie A this year.
He scored a penalty for Fogo in their 3-2 victory over Ceara on June 5, a match in which he also saw a long-range effort after a corner miss, and had a free-kick blocked.
Alex Telles is someone Fogo rely upon from set-pieces, so any that come their way are likely to go to him.
PSG vs Botafogo Bet Builder Stats
- Alex Telles (BOT) has been booked in two of his last five games
- Alex Telles has recorded 1+ shots in his last six appearances
- Achraf Hakimi (PSG) has registered a shot on target in five of his last six matches
- Nuno Mendes (PSG) averaged three tackles per game in 24/25 UCL
Achraf Hakimi (PSG) Total Shots on Target - 1+
PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi has enjoyed a fruitful season in front of goal, scoring 11 goals for club and country.
The 26-year-old has been particularly productive in the last month, netting in the Coupe de France Final against Reims and the Uefa Champions League Final against Inter Milan, before heading off on international duty and opening the scoring in Morocco's 2-0 victory over Tunisia to make it three games in a row with a goal. He had also struck against Arsenal in the second leg of Les Parisiens' semi-final win on May 7, the first of four goals in five appearances.
Hakimi was unable to add his name to the scoresheet last Sunday, despite his side thrashing Atletico 4-0, but he did register a shot on target with his only effort of the game in the 78th minute.
The 85-cap international averaged 0.5 shots on target per game in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season, and 0.9 shots on target per game in the Champions League.
Against a Botafogo side that conceded 23 shots to the Sounders in their group opener, including two to their right-back Alex Roldan, Hakimi will be confident of getting into goalscoring areas on Friday, and even if he can't score, I'm confident he can at least work the goalkeeper.
Nuno Mendes (PSG) Total Tackles - 3+
I'm concluding this Bet Builder on the other side of PSG's defence, with tough-tackling left-back Nuno Mendes, who has been a revelation for club and country this season.
The 23-year-old has been terrific going forward, scoring six times and registering 13 assists for club and country, but the Portugal international has been equally as impressive going the other way.
Mendes averaged 1.2 tackles per game in Ligue 1, but raised his levels in the Champions League, where he was tested more, averaging three per game in the competition.
He made three in the second leg of PSG's quarter-final tie with Aston Villa, five in the first leg of their semi-final tie with Arsenal, before recording three in the second leg and the final against Inter.
Then, at the Uefa Nations League finals earlier this month, he made one tackle against Germany and three in the final against Spain.
Mendes only managed one for PSG against Atletico last Sunday, but I'm expecting Fogo to offer more in attack than their off-colour Spanish counterparts did.
Artur started as Fogo's right-winger against the Sounders, and he was fouled three times in the first half, the second offence on him committed by Nouhou Tolo, who was booked - and made one tackle - before being hooked at half-time. Reed Baker-Whiting came on for the Cameroonian and made three tackles down the left.
Meanwhile, in Fogo's previous match, the victory over Ceara earlier this month, the opposition left-back, Nicolas, also made three tackles, with Artur playing the whole game again.
