Tottenham continue their Europa League campaign with a trip to Hungary to take on Ferencvaros on Thursday (17:45, TNT Sports 1). Ange Postecoglou’s men hammered Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday and now have scored three goals in each of their last three outings.

They now travel to Budapest to take on the Hungarian outfit who have won their first six league games, but were beaten 2-1 by Anderlecht in their Europa League opener. Below you can find my Ferencvaros vs Tottenham prediction featuring betting tips, predictions and more.

Ferencvaros vs Tottenham Betting Tips

  • Tottenham to score over 2.5 goals @ 11/8
  • Dominic Solanke to score anytime @ 11/10

Team News

Ferencvaros have made a perfect start to their league campaign, and it has been made possible thanks to a fully-fit squad. They rotated for their league win over Puskas Akademia at the weekend and so Endre Botka, Cristian Ramirez and Gabor Szalai could all come back into the defence.

Philippe Rommens is also pushing for a recall in place of Habib Maiga with Adama Traore, Kady and Barnabas Varga expected to make up the front three. Varga suffered a serious and shocking head injury at Euro 2024, but has now fully recovered and is likely to cause Spurs some problems.

Postecoglou meanwhile would perhaps like to rotate more than he currently can. Radu Dragusin is suspended after his red card against Qarabag, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are currently injured and Destiny Udogie and Son Heung-min are unlikely to be risked for this one after recent issues.

It means Archie Gray and Djed Spence may start in the full-back positions, with Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and Lucas Bergvall all potential midfield options. Up front however, Solanke will have to start again along with Timo Werner and potentially Brennan Johnson, even though all three started in Sunday's win at Old Trafford.

Ferencvaros vs Tottenham Odds

Ferencvaros are priced at 6/1 to win this one, with Tottenham the heavy favourites at 2/5. A draw is available at 18/5, over 2.5 goals is 8/15 and BTTS is 8/11. Dominic Solanke is the favourite to open the scoring at 7/2.

Tottenham to score over 2.5 goals @ 11/8

There’s a clear gap in quality between these two teams and although the Groupama Arena is a tough place to go in midweek, I just think Spurs will have the majority of the ball and be able to score goals at will. They were so brave on the ball at Old Trafford and were able to create so many chances, having 24 shots in total - albeit against 10-men for the majority.

I’d expect something similar against Ferencvaros, as they came up short against Anderlecht in their Europa League opener. Spurs are a step up on the Belgian side, and I think with the attacking quality they have, they should be able to find the net over 2.5 times in the Hungarian capital.

Dominic Solanke to score anytime @ 11/10

Solanke is starting to fire at Spurs. After his big-money summer move from Bournemouth, a lot was expected of him, but a slight ankle injury meant he couldn’t hit the ground running. Now he’s back fit though, and he’s scored in the last three matches, with one goal apiece against Brentford, Qarabag and Man United.

He’s now finding his feet alongside his new teammates, and you can see the likes of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are beginning to understand the type of striker that he is. He showed great poacher tendencies to tap in the third at Old Trafford from a corner, but his physicality makes him a difficult proposition for the opposition defence to deal with at any point.

I think he will continue his goalscoring form in Hungary, and make it four in four in all competitions.
