Tamworth almost pulled off an almighty FA Cup upset when taking Tottenham to extra-time in the third round of last year’s competition, but the National League side may have trouble getting past Leyton Orient in round one this time around when they meet on Monday (19:30 GMT, TNT Sports 1).

Orient have won four of their last five matches and Richie Wellens has his side moving in the right direction. The artificial pitch at the Altair Group Community Stadium is something for punters to consider, but it’s not expected to be enough to swing the tie in Tamworth's favour.

Team News

Tyler Roberts is yet to make an appearance for Tamworth and looks set to be absent again. Dillon De Silva found the net on his debut in Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Boston and is available for selection.

Orient’s Rarmani Edmonds-Green will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Richie Wellens may look to rotate his side with the FA Cup added to their ongoing EFL Trophy and League One commitments, but the visitors are still expected to field a strong side.

Football Odds

Leyton Orient to win & over 1.5 goals @ 9/10

Last week’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa’s academy in the EFL Trophy made it four wins in five matches for Leyton Orient and the east Londoners should make progress in the FA Cup by beating Tamworth on Monday night.

Richie Wellens’ men had previously recorded victories over Lincoln, Doncaster and Crawley and the O’s are a progressive and forward-thinking side.

There have been 53 goals scored across Orient’s 18 matches this season, at an average of 2.94 per game, and Wellens’ men can be fancied to edge a high-scoring tie at the Altair Group Community Stadium.

Tamworth went mighty close to downing Tottenham in the FA Cup third round last season, but the Lambs were beaten 3-1 in a taxing contest by Boston on Saturday and they face a major step up in class here.

Dom Ballard to score first @ 9/2

Leyton Orient’s dangerous front three of Dom Ballard, Aaron Connolly and Josh Koroma have hit a combined 14 goals in the third tier this season and the trio can be expected to get plenty of joy against Tamworth.

Ballard has six goals in only eight league appearances and the 20-year-old is a young forward on the rise.

At 9/2, the former Southampton man appeals in the first goalscorer market.
