After a hectic midweek of fixtures, the Premier League returns once again this weekend as Everton host Tottenham at Goodison Park (12:30).

Everton were left frustrated by their stalemate with Fulham last time out, while Tottenham overcame Brentford with a 3-2 win. Below we’ve taken a look at the odds for this one, and put forward a couple of betting selections.

Everton vs Tottenham Tips

  • Under 0.5 Everton goals @ 3/1
  • Tottenham to win to nil @ 4/1

Team News

Abdoulaye Doucoure missed the trip to Fulham and is also likely to sit this one out as he tries to recover from his hamstring injury. Sean Dyche could welcome Seamus Coleman back to his squad, while Dele Alli, Andre Gomes and Amadou Onana all remain out. Idrissa Gana Gueye could return after Senegal were knocked out of the AFCON on Monday night.

His countryman Pape Sarr could return for Spurs after his AFCON exit, while Yves Bissouma’s Mali remain in the competition. Heung-min Son is still on international duty with South Korea, while Giovani Lo Celso is still some way away from a return to fitness.

Match Odds

Everton are 13/8 to win this game, with Tottenham priced at 6/4 to take all three points. A draw is available at 5/2, BTTS is 8/15 and over 2.5 goals is priced at 4/6

Under 0.5 Everton goals @ 3/1

Everton are in a pickle. After their ten point deduction, they went on a cracking run of form to pull themselves away from danger. However, in recent weeks, they have been unable to find a win, having not picked up three points since the 16th December. Worse still, they are in the goalscoring mire at the minute, without a goal in their last three league matches.

Dyche has been struggling to get his side to create chances, and over their last six games in in all competitions, they’ve scored just twice. That’s a pathetic record and they haven’t even played any of the elite Premier League teams across that span. Up against Spurs, who will dominate possession, I think they will struggle once more. The price of 3/1 on them to fail to score feels remarkably generous given what we have seen in 2024.

Tottenham to win to nil @ 4/1

The next sensible pick.

Given we’ve just explained Everton’s goalscoring woes, a Tottenham win to nil at 4/1, is another big price to take advantage of. Spurs have been pretty damn good of late, and with their returning players, including the influential James Maddison, they should be able to keep their unbeaten 2024 going.

With Maddison, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski, they should have more than enough to find the net, while I’m happy to back them to keep a poor Everton side at bay. I’m buoyed by the odds for both of these bets, as I’m fairly strong in my belief that the Toffees are in serious trouble at the moment.
